@kodesh1674

@Nathan Joerndt right 3:01 they say that but next they gon be shouting rebellion against Caesar🙄

@Usedw0tm8

I can't figure out what it means! "You hate us more than you hate him" or You hate us more than he hates us"?? My mom and I are stumped lol

@nathanjoerndt8804

@Hannah Kaufman well he was testing them to see if they were loyal to him or loyal to Jesus

@jackschwartz9419

@Hannah Kaufman "you hate us more than you hate him". There were three major wars between the Jews and Roman Empire over the first and second centuries.

I love the way this Pilate is visibly in pain as he is forced to punish an innocent man. It demonstrates great emotional depth for a man who could so easily be a blank villain, and often is treated as one.

@JaySports644

He knew he was apart of the plan. Painfully even.

@nancyayers6355

I agree, but by the way, whoa, are Pilate's teeth
even real!!??

@glamourweaver

Good work by the actor, it just drives me crazy as a historian, as poor put upon Pilar forced to kill an innocent by those scheming Pharisees is historically antisemitic Roman propaganda. In actual history, Pilat was sending hundreds of innocent Jews to the cross on a weekly basis as part of mass executions to punish any act of rebellion.

But it was important for the early Church to position themselves as Roman-friendly, so shifting blame for the crucifixion onto the Jews from Rome got enshrined in Matthew.
