The shrimp sounds like a good option. Just reminded me that I need to make another 1/2 gallon batch of pickled shrimp with sweet onions, lemon, capers, canola oil, hot pepper powder, ... I never thought I'd like pickled shrimp, but the recipe I found was amazing. The onions in the recipe were just as good as eating the shrimp. Just had a new 20" stove delivered today, and I really need to get that installed. I haven't been able to make sourdough bread for almost a year. First up will be sourdough pumpernickel within a week or so. I've already started my sourdough starter from a piece I had frozen.

The shrimp are amazing! We live in the Primorsky Territory of Russia, and shrimps are the best snack for beer. This is how we always thought, and even at the most famous pub in Vladivostok back in Soviet times, there was a huge shrimp made of neon tubes on the facade. We called the shrimp "chilims"

Мы гуляли по Краснодару и, когда парень попробовал наше мороженое, он стал покупать и есть его у каждого киоска, мы уже оттаскивали его, боясь, что у него ангина будет, но ничё, обошлось. Potatoes in the village (in Russian) are on the menu. The menu is standard, all from McDonald's. Except for some dishes. No Coca Cola. But there is a very delicious new lemonade "ripe plum and currant". And it seems to me that the taste of the dishes has become better. Maybe there is less "chemistry" :-)) But this is only for my personal taste.

There's a good reason, Kathy, to be upbeat about it. Russians are much better off without this American junk food.
As everyone knows, this western trash food is not only unnatural and chemical, it's downright hazardous for health.
So, as you can see from numerous commentaries written by westerners themselves for this and similar videos, many Europeans and Americans actually envy Russians that Russians had the guts to kick out this American trash food empire out of the country.
Everyone knows that this trash food is polluting and contaminating local lifestyle, environment and traditional food scene the world over. Sure many other countries would soon follow suit and kick American junk food out of their countries too.
By the way, unlike in most other countries (where McDonald's customers are fed frozen fries and nuggets shipped from the US months ago) in Russia this chain only used local food suppliers. So without the yoke of American junk food corporations, Russians (very same suppliers) would do it better, and serve much healthier food.
To the envy of other countries, Russians freed themselves from the shackles of American trash food capitalism.
So Russians are better off with their own home-grown chains
