Don't put on the tie
Don't buy the book
There's plenty in the lower layer if you dare
So much if you're willing to look
But if you wanna keep on cooking a dream
Then stay where the dreaming's done
But if you wanna know and you're ready to go
Hail to the seed inside, the profit of your dreams
Yeah
Oh, yeah
Sister by the side of the sea
I see you moving with me
I feel you breathe in the tides
Sister by the side of the sea
Please take the war out of me
Bring me back to your side
Help your brothers home, help your brothers home
Home where he's grown
Sing him back to the start
Help your brothers home, help your brothers home
Home to the throne
Sing him back to his heart
And hail the seed inside, the prophet of your dreams
Yeah
Help your brothers home, help your brothers home
Home where he's grown
Sing him back to the start
Help your brothers home, help your brothers home
Home to the throne
Sing him back to his heart
Help your brothers home, help your brothers home
Home where he's grown
Sing him back to the start
Help your brothers home, help your brothers home
Home to the throne
Sing him back to his heart
Ooh, yeah
The lyrics of Nick Mulvey's song "Third Way" touch on themes of individuality, authenticity, and the pursuit of one's dreams. The song encourages listeners to challenge societal norms and expectations, urging them not to conform to a predetermined path. The opening lines of the song, "Brother, don't seek the lie, Don't put on the tie, Don't buy the book," suggest a rejection of societal pressures to conform and to follow a predetermined set of rules and expectations.
Instead, the song suggests that there is so much more to be found in the lower layer, in the unexplored and unconventional paths. It emphasizes the importance of staying true to oneself and pursuing personal dreams and aspirations, rather than simply conforming to societal norms. The lyrics encourage listeners to be willing to seek and explore new possibilities, even if it means taking a risk or leaving behind the comfort of familiar surroundings.
The chorus of the song celebrates the power of individual dreams and acknowledges the potential for personal growth and fulfillment. It encourages listeners to embrace their own dreams and to support others in their own journeys of self-discovery and authenticity.
Overall, "Third Way" is a song that encourages listeners to break free from societal expectations, embrace their own dreams and aspirations, and support others in their pursuit of self-expression and fulfillment.
