Self-taught in music, Fidenco did a few cover versions of film title songs for the Italian market. With the song "Legata a un granello di sabbia", he was the first Italian singer to sell one million copies of a single. This interest in cinema led him to be a prolific soundtrack composer, including scores for westerns, soft erotica films and many Joe D'Amato films. He scored 6 of the Emanuelle films in the mid-70s,

Zingara
Dimmi pure che destino avrò
Parla del mio amore
Io non ho paura
Perché lo so che ormai
Non mi appartiene
Zingara
Vedi l′oro dei capelli suoi
Dimmi se ricambia
Parte del mio amore
Devi dirlo
Questo tocca a te
Ma se è scritto
Che la perderò
Come neve al sole
Si scioglierà un amore
Prendi questa mano
Zingara
Ma se è scritto
Che la perderò
Come neve al sole
Si scioglierà un amore
Prendi questa mano
Zingara
Dimmi pure che destino avrò
Dimmi che mi ama
Dammi la speranza
Solo questo
Conta ormai
Per me
The song "Zingara" by Nico Fidenco is about a man who seeks guidance from a fortune teller or "zingara" about his love life. He asks her about his fate and the fate of his lover, convinced that their love is not meant to be. The man is unafraid and confident as he seeks answers from the fortune teller, claiming that he no longer possesses his lover's love. He pleads with the zingara to look into his eyes and tell him if his lover reciprocates his love. The fortune teller holds the key to his happiness and he begs her to tell him if he still holds a chance with his lover.
The lyrics of the song suggest that the man is resigned to his fate and is ready to accept whatever the future holds. He acknowledges that if it is written in the stars that he will lose his lover, then their love will melt away like snow in the sun. However, he still yearns for hope and the chance to be with his lover again. The song highlights the theme of destiny and fate and how they can impact one's love life, while also exploring the concept of hope and the idea that it can carry one through even the toughest of times.
