Soixante-huit
L'Amérique est figée
Un ange proteste
Les écrous sont rouillés
I'm black and I'm proud
Le souffle des ghettos
Les gants noirs se lèvent
Le rêve martyrisé
De Martin Luther King
Une enfant nue brûlée
Boby qu'on assassine
Panthère noire traquée
Leçon d'intolérance
Cette femme est coupable
Coupable d'espérance
Oh Angela Angela
My home is your home
Oh Angela Angela
You now you'll never walk alone
Oh Angela Angela
My home is your home
Oh Angela Angela
You now you'll never walk alone
Angela my sister
Angela my sister
My home is your home
Angela my sister
Angela my sister
Ton nom dans nos vies résonne
Oh Angela Angela
My home is your home
Oh Angela Angela
Ton nom dans nos vies résonne
The lyrics of Noah's song Angela are a tribute to Angela Davis, a prominent activist and scholar in the Civil Rights and Black Power movements of the 1960s and 1970s. The first stanza refers to the year 1968, a momentous year in American history where there was widespread social and political unrest. The lyrics mention the Black Power movement with the phrase "I'm black and I'm proud" and the Black Panther Party with "panthère noire traquée" (hunted black panther). The song also references the murder of Bobby Hutton, a founding member of the Black Panther Party, and the burning of a naked girl during the Vietnam War. The lyrics show Noah's admiration and appreciation for Angela Davis, who was a prominent member of the Communist Party, and whose activism and social work embodied hope in times of discrimination and intolerance.
The chorus of the song, "Oh Angela Angela, my home is your home, you'll never walk alone," is Noah's way of reaffirming his solidarity with Davis and her struggle. The song continues to speak about social change from a more contemporary perspective, with references to the 2008 U.S. Presidential election and the changing demographics of the country. The song ends with the repetition of "Angela my sister," which serves as a tribute to Davis' legacy and the ongoing struggle for social justice that she has inspired.

@Eliott ok merci quand même
