Go Away
Nora Aunor Lyrics

Stay away from my lonesome past
Go away, go away
I can stand to feel the pain.
My thoughts have found me searching in the dark
I wonder how long it will last
Couldn't wait this much for a thousand nights
Go away, go away
Stay away from my lonesome past
Go away, go away
I can stand to feel the pain.
The music I hear can give me delight
Once again I walk through the roads that I've passed
Will I pass that road a thousand night
For a thousand times I will die.
Go away, go away
Stay away from my lonesome past
Go away, go away
I can stand to feel the pain.
The lyrics to Nora Aunor's song "Go Away" express the singer's desire to move on from a painful past. The repetition of "go away" emphasizes the need to leave behind memories and emotions that are holding her back from finding happiness. The line "stay away from my lonesome past" suggests that the past was isolating and the singer wants to distance herself from it. She is willing to endure the pain of letting go, as it is necessary for her to move forward.
The lyric "my thoughts have found me searching in the dark" implies that the singer has been struggling with finding clarity and meaning in her life. The line "couldn't wait this much for a thousand nights" shows the urgency in her desire for change, as the pain has become unbearable. The repetition of "for a thousand times I will die" expresses the depth of despair and emotional turmoil the singer is feeling.
The second stanza suggests that the singer has found some solace in music, which brings her joy and a feeling of familiarity. However, the uncertainty of whether she will have to cross the painful roads of her past "a thousand times" still haunts her. The final repetition of "I can stand to feel the pain" can be interpreted as a sense of resignation, that the singer is willing to endure whatever comes her way in order to move on from her lonesome past.
