After engaging in occasional works for TV, musical groups, and solo musicians, he joined Basiscape in 2006. He initially led the orchestration of the anime project Romeo X Juliet performed by the Eminence Symphony Orchestra.
Kamikura's first game project was the rock score Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi: Gekitou! Ragnarok Hachikengou. He has subsequently had small roles in Grim Grimoire, Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings, Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift, Deltora Quest, and L no Kisetsu 2. Kamikura was also an arranger for Eminence's piano quintet event Destiny - Destiny, a jazz fusion remixer on Darius Remix, and the electric guitarist on Death Smiles.
In recent months, Kamikura has produced some major contributions to RPG scores. He has contributed to the warm orchestral / synthetic blends of Opoona, the rich spiritual Celtic pieces of Elminage, and the atmospheric genre-hopping score to Coded Soul. He has also orchestrated Sakimoto's scores to Studio Gonzo's game-to-anime adaptation The Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk and Sega's PlayStation 3 epic Valkyria Chronicles.

The whole OST is incredible, but this track in particular shocked me the first time I heard it in-game. Together with the fast, fluid combat it created an amazing atmosphere that's rare in most games.

Long time favorite. Jazz fusion/classical meets traditional instrumentation. It's amazing how full and textured the mix is. So many instrumental parts moving at once and perfectly spaced out in the stereo field for clarity and to drive the piece forward. Great mix, incredible track for sure. One of the most amazing and beautiful pieces of VGM I've heard in a long time.

I absolutely love how the non-battle and battle versions of this piece transition to each other in-game. Kudos both to the sound team and composer that it is so seamless and natural, as if they are...One Piece...LUFFY!!!!

Man I wish they'd port this to the PS4 and PS5, I'd buy it day one. Still have my Wii copy from back in the day.
