In 2006, Number One Gun decided to move on to different projects despite their growing success. A recently posted Myspace bulletin cleared up the state of the band, stating that Schneeweis has a new band called The North Pole Project, Keene and Mallory formed Surrogate, and Sellers plays bass in Armed for Apocalypse.
However, when Schneeweis approached Tooth and Nail about signing his solo project, The North Pole Project, they wanted him to release the album under Number One Gun. So The North Pole Project became the album name instead. It was released on Tooth and Nail on January 15, 2008.
The band's following release, To The Secrets And Knowledge, was a continuation of the one-man project.
In June 2012, Jeff Schneeweis announced on his Twitter that he was developing a new song under the Number One Gun band name. Further posts on Twitter and Facebook revealed that the original lineup would be reuniting to write and record a new full-length album. In July 2012, the band launched a Kickstarter page to help fund their new album and subsequent tour. In addition, the band announced that Stephen Christian, lead singer of the band Anberlin, would collaborate and contribute vocals for at least one song on the album. The album, This Is All We Know, was made available on November 27, 2013, to fans who backed the Kickstarter project, and officially released on January 14, 2014, on Tooth & Nail Records.

Was it a moment just to show that you're alive
Could it be so bad to follow all these dreams, I have,
And use them for your glory
And turn around my face
So what's that fear to fall a way
One of these day's ill find a way,
Falling over just to show you I'm alive
Could it be, so bad, to follow all these dreams, I have,
And use them for your glory
And turn around my face
So what's that fear to
Fall away in you is the only way to fall way
Fall asleep into your arms
And breathe inside
And go on and fall away
Everyone's running out of time
So get what you've wanted all your life
Planning for your mistakes
Has taken you far away
So take what's inside and make your mind
Just to make sure your right
The song Celebrate Mistakes by Number One Gun deals with the themes of self-doubt, fear, and the pursuit of dreams. The lyrics emphasize the idea that making mistakes is a natural part of the journey towards reaching one's goals. The song encourages the listener to embrace their flaws and not be afraid of failure, as it is a necessary stepping stone towards success. The lines "Could it be so bad to follow all these dreams I have, And use them for your glory" suggest that the pursuit of one's dreams can have a greater purpose beyond personal fulfillment.
The repetition of the line "fall away" in the chorus creates a sense of release and acceptance. It's as if the song is saying that letting go and falling away in someone else's arms, possibly referring to a higher power or a loved one, is the only way to find peace and move forward. The line "Everyone's running out of time, So get what you've wanted all your life" furthers the sense of urgency and encourages the listener to take action towards their dreams before it's too late.
