OBK is a techno-pop group from Barcelona (Spain).
It was founded by Miguel Arjona and Jordi Sánchez in the late 1980s. OBK are big fans of Depeche Mode and the name of the group OBK is short for "Oberkorn (It's a Small Town)", the name of the B-side from "The Meaning of Love".

Jordi y Miguel se conocieron en Sant Feliu de Llobregat (Barcelona), en 1982, practicando atletismo. Al poco tiempo empezaron a compartir su admiración por las bandas techno de la época, tales como Yazoo, Visage, OMD y Depeche Mode.
Fue precisamente el título de una canción de Depeche Mode, "Oberkorn", el que les dio la idea para ponerle nombre al grupo que formarían más adelante, que más tarde convertirían en las siglas que hoy todos conocemos.
Siendo unos jovencitos con la veintena recién cumplida, se plantearon ofrecer sus canciones a algunas discográficas, que en aquella época no querían ni oír hablar de música techno, algo que no vendía demasiado. Al final lo consiguieron, gracias a la cara B de su maqueta donde se encontraba OCULTA REALIDAD.
En 1991 sacaron su primer disco "Llámalo sueño", con Blanco y Negro Music. En 1993 lanzaron al mercado "Momentos de fe", con la misma discográfica. En 1995 editan "Trilogía", en este caso cambiaron a Hispavox, discográfica con la que han seguido hasta el momento.
Su cuarto disco "Dónde el corazón nos lleve", el cual vio la luz en 1996, fue grabado en Julio y Agosto de ese año en los estudios Rod's Musics de Barcelona. Para éste contaron con la colaboración de Antonio Carmona, guitarrista de Luz Casal, en una versión acústica. Hay que decir que este fue el disco donde los críticos atacaron más al grupo y es posible que haya sido la peor época de su carrera. Ante todo, este disco confirmó la unidad del grupo para componer buenas melodías pop, abriendo el disco a nuevas fronteras de la música electrónica.
En 1998 lanzan al mercado "SINGLES 91-98". Donde, según dicen, quisieron rendir un homenaje a sus fans y a su música. Para las nuevas canciones incluidas en el disco contaron con la colaboración de Pedro Guerra, al bajo, y de Pedro Sánchez (Ketama), en la batería. Y para la remezcla de "Historias de amor" contaron con el estupendo trabajo del grupo A.S.A.P.
En Marzo de 2.000, editan el trabajo "Antropop", bajo la producción de Carlos Jean, el cual, ha sabido dar su toque personal a este álbum, sin perder nada de la esencia de OBK.
En Marzo de 2.001, sale a la venta su disco "Extrapop", un disco de remezclas de de su anterior trabajo, con algunas canciones nuevas y dos versiones.
En Marzo de 2.003 ve la luz su octavo disco "Babylon", un disco con 10 temas inéditos que nos descubren un nuevo sonido del grupo, tomando influencias de grupos como De/Vision, Mesh o artistas como Madonna en algunos de sus temas, y con una buena dosis de cosecha propia.
A principios de 2004 sorprenden a sus seguidores con "Sonorama", un disco recopilatorio que recoge los éxitos de toda su carrera, y que nuevamente les permite mostrar la evolución de su sonido, muy influenciada por Carlos Jean, en este nuevo trabajo se recoge una interesante colaboración con Alaska, a dúo con Jordi en "Quiéreme otra vez", y un tema inédito "Ni te das cuenta".
En Septiembre de 2005 se edita el que es su décimo disco, "Feeling". Bajo la producción de Carlos Jean, el disco nos muestra el lado más introspectivo de Jordi y Miguel, y recuerda a sus primeros trabajos.
Jordi y Miguel siempre han sabido rodearse de un fabuloso equipo de músicos y técnicos de sonido e iluminación, que han contribuido a que los conciertos de OBK pasen de ser algo más que conciertos, para convertirse en auténticas fiestas. Trataremos de hacer que sepais un poco más sobre alguno de estos colaboradores, que en algunas ocasiones llevan acompañando al grupo desde sus inicios.
Vamos a centrarnos en estos tres chicos, que son los que han compartido escenario con Jordi y Miguel a lo largo de toda la gira de Antropop y Extrapop:
- Sergi Pérez: Uno de los teclistas del grupo. Colabora con OBK desde hace tiempo, y perteneció a la banda Santuario hasta 1995. Además de esta profesión es productor de otros grupos y un artista con personalidad propia. Si pinchas sobre su nombre tendrás una completísima información sobre su carrera profesional.
- Iván Blasco: Al igual que Sergi, Iván es un antiguo componente del grupo Santuario, tras la desaparición del mismo pasó a formar parte de OBK, y desde entonces ahí ha seguido, ya son unos cuantos años al lado de Jordi y Miguel.
- Javi Pedreira: Además de ser el guitarrista en concierto durante la gira Babylon, Javi ha colaborado en la instrumentalización de FEELING, con sus arreglos de guitarra en varios temas.
- Pablo Serrano: El batería que acompaña a OBK en la nueva gira de Babylon. Que además de tocar, hace los coros a Jordi en algunos temas. Si pinchas sobre su nombre tendrás parte de su biografía.
