Oasis signed to independent record label Creation Records in 1993 and released their record-setting debut album Definitely Maybe (1994). The following year they recorded (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995) with drummer Alan White, in the midst of a chart rivalry with peers Blur. Spending ten weeks at number one on the UK Albums Chart, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? was also an international chart success and became one of the best-selling albums of all time. In addition, it stands as the fifth-best-selling album in the UK and the biggest-selling album in the UK of the 1990s. The Gallagher brothers featured regularly in tabloid newspapers for their disputes and wild lifestyles. In 1996, Oasis performed two nights at Knebworth for an audience of 125,000 each time, the largest outdoor concerts in UK history at the time. In 1997, Oasis released their third album, Be Here Now. It became the fastest-selling album in UK chart history.
Oasis' popularity later declined and McGuigan and Arthurs left in 1999 as Oasis released Standing on the Shoulder of Giants (2000). They were replaced by former Heavy Stereo guitarist Gem Archer and former Ride guitarist Andy Bell. White departed in 2004, replaced by Zak Starkey and later Chris Sharrock. Oasis released three more studio albums, Heathen Chemistry (2002), Don't Believe the Truth (2005) and Dig Out Your Soul (2008). The group abruptly disbanded after the departure of Noel Gallagher in August 2009.
As of 2009, Oasis had sold over 70 million records worldwide. They are among the most successful acts on the UK Singles Chart and Albums Chart, with eight UK number-one singles and eight UK number-one albums. The band also achieved three platinum albums in the US. They won 17 NME Awards, nine Q Awards, four MTV Europe Music Awards and six Brit Awards, including one in 2007 for Outstanding Contribution to Music and one for the "Best Album of the Last 30 Years" for (What's the Story) Morning Glory?. They were nominated for two Grammy Awards.

Oasis Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Hold on
Don't be scared
You'll never change what's been and gone
May your smile (may your smile)
Shine on (shine on)
Don't be scared (don't be scared)
Your destiny may keep you warm
'Cause all of the stars
Are fading away
Just try not to worry
You'll see them someday
Take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out
Get up (get up)
Come on (come on)
Why you scared? (I'm not scared)
You'll never change what's been and gone
'Cause all of the stars
Are fading away
Just try not to worry
You'll see them someday
Take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out
'Cause all of the stars
Are fading away
Just try not to worry
You'll see them someday
Just take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out
We're all of us stars
We're fading away
Just try not to worry
You'll see us someday
Just take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out
Stop crying your heart out
Stop crying your heart out
Stop crying your heart out
The lyrics to Oasis's "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" convey a message of hope and perseverance, encouraging the listener not to dwell on the past and instead focus on moving forward. The opening lines "Hold up, Hold on, Don't be scared, You'll never change what's been and gone" establish a tone of reassurance and confidence, reminding the listener that the past cannot be changed and it is important to accept this fact and move on. The chorus repeats the phrase "all of the stars are fading away," conveying a sense of loss and uncertainty about the future, but then follows up with the optimistic message "just try not to worry, you'll see them someday," implying that there is still hope and the stars may reappear one day.
Throughout the song, the lyrics convey a sense of comfort and support. The line "May your smile shine on, Your destiny may keep you warm" suggests that even in difficult times, one can find comfort and purpose in their life journey. The repeated phrase "and stop crying your heart out" reinforces the idea that one should not dwell on negative emotions but instead look towards a brighter future. The final lines "We're all of us stars, We're fading away, Just try not to worry, You'll see us someday" offer a sense of connection and the reminder that we are all in this journey of life together, and there is always hope for a better tomorrow.
Overall, "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" is a song that encourages the listener to focus on positivity and hope, and to not let negative emotions consume them.

My dad was never an oasis fan but he liked this song ...
When I turned 6 he... was murdered.
A few years later, by chance, I heard Stop crying your heart out reminded me so much of those moments when I asked
- why there are only clouds?
- I don't know, but I like the song !.
Now oasis is my favorite band ... The one in my life.
'Cause all of the stars
Are fading away
Just try not to worry
You'll see them some day - I miss you dad ...
