Oasis signed to independent record label Creation Records in 1993 and released their record-setting debut album Definitely Maybe (1994). The following year they recorded (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995) with drummer Alan White, in the midst of a chart rivalry with peers Blur. Spending ten weeks at number one on the UK Albums Chart, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? was also an international chart success and became one of the best-selling albums of all time. In addition, it stands as the fifth-best-selling album in the UK and the biggest-selling album in the UK of the 1990s. The Gallagher brothers featured regularly in tabloid newspapers for their disputes and wild lifestyles. In 1996, Oasis performed two nights at Knebworth for an audience of 125,000 each time, the largest outdoor concerts in UK history at the time. In 1997, Oasis released their third album, Be Here Now. It became the fastest-selling album in UK chart history.
Oasis' popularity later declined and McGuigan and Arthurs left in 1999 as Oasis released Standing on the Shoulder of Giants (2000). They were replaced by former Heavy Stereo guitarist Gem Archer and former Ride guitarist Andy Bell. White departed in 2004, replaced by Zak Starkey and later Chris Sharrock. Oasis released three more studio albums, Heathen Chemistry (2002), Don't Believe the Truth (2005) and Dig Out Your Soul (2008). The group abruptly disbanded after the departure of Noel Gallagher in August 2009.
As of 2009, Oasis had sold over 70 million records worldwide. They are among the most successful acts on the UK Singles Chart and Albums Chart, with eight UK number-one singles and eight UK number-one albums. The band also achieved three platinum albums in the US. They won 17 NME Awards, nine Q Awards, four MTV Europe Music Awards and six Brit Awards, including one in 2007 for Outstanding Contribution to Music and one for the "Best Album of the Last 30 Years" for (What's the Story) Morning Glory?. They were nominated for two Grammy Awards.

Hello
Oasis Lyrics

You take up all my time
The days are long and the nights will throw you away
'Cause the sun don't shine
Nobody ever mentions the weather
Can make or break your day
Nobody ever seems to remember
We live in the shadows and we
Had the chance and threw it away
And it's never going to be the same
'Cause the years are falling by like the rain
It's never gonna be the same
'Til the life I knew comes to my house and says
Hello
There ain't no sense in feeling lonely
They got no faith in you
But I've got a feeling you still owe me
So wipe the shit from your shoes
Nobody ever mentions the weather
Can make or break your day
Nobody ever seems to remember
Life is a game we play
We live in the shadows and we
Had the chance and threw it away
And it's never going to be the same
'Cause the years are falling by like the rain
It's never gonna be the same
'Til the life I knew comes to my house and says
Hello, hello (it's good to be back)
Hello, hello (it's good to be back)
Hello, hello (it's good to be back)
Hello, hello, hello
The song "Hello" by Oasis is a melancholic tune that speaks of lost chances, forgotten memories, and the passage of time. The first verse reflects the singer's feeling of disconnection from someone who is taking up all their time but remains distant. The second verse talks about the importance of weather in our daily lives and how it can make or break our day, but no one seems to take notice. The line "life is a game we play" reminds us of the fleeting nature of life and how we shouldn't take it for granted. The chorus brings forth the theme of lost chances with the line "We had the chance and threw it away," followed by the realization that time is slipping away like rain. The singer longs for the past to return when life was simpler, and everything was in its rightful place - "Till the life I knew comes to my house and says hello."
The second verse takes a different turn with the singer addressing someone who has lost faith and is feeling lonely. However, the singer believes that this person still owes them something and urges them to ignore the negative feelings and move on. The chorus repeats, with the "Hello, hello" expressing this desire to go back to the past and recapture what has been lost. The final "hello, hello, hello" emphasizes this longing for the past and the need for things to be the same again.
Overall, "Hello" is a poignant song that mourns lost chances and a simpler time. It speaks to the universal human experience of wanting to go back to the past and recapture the fleeting moments of happiness that come and go.
