"Talk Tonight" is one of many acoustic B-side tracks sung by Noel, and was at the time, the most vulnerable song he had ever attempted. It was inspired by the near-breakup of the band in Los Angeles in autumn 1994, when Noel walked out without telling anyone and headed for San Francisco. He stayed with a girl he had befriended during a previous show there. According to the sleeve notes to The Masterplan, she talked a distraught Noel "off the ledge" and took him to the park where she played as a child. It is also mentioned in the Oasis book by Paul Mathurs, Take Me There, that his friend also had an obsession with Snapple Strawberry Lemonade, which contributed to the line in the song, "all your dreams are made of strawberry lemonade." The song also featured on the DVD "Live By The Sea" After Noel makes a mistake on the track "D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman?".
The song is included on Oasis' compilation album Stop the Clocks.
Paul Weller played keyboards when Oasis performed this song on Channel 4's The White Room in 1995.
An extract of the song was used in the 2008 GCSE Music Listening Paper Exam.

A thousand million miles from home
When something hit me
Somewhere right between the eyes
Sleepin' on a plane, you know you can't complain
You took your last chance once again
I landed, stranded
Hardly even knew your name
I wanna talk tonight
Until the mornin' light
'Bout how you saved my life
You and me see how we are
You and me see how we are
All your dreams are made of strawberry lemonade
And you make sure I eat today
You take me walking
To where you played when you were young
I'll never say that I won't ever make you cry
And this I'll say, I don't know why
I know I'm leavin'
But I'll be back another day
I wanna talk tonight
Until the mornin' light
'Bout how you saved my life
(You saved my life)
I wanna talk tonight
(I wanna talk tonight)
'Bout how you saved my life
(I wanna talk tonight)
'Bout how you saved my life
(I wanna talk tonight)
'Bout how you saved my life
(I wanna talk tonight)
'Bout how you saved my life
(I wanna talk tonight)
(I wanna talk tonight)
(I wanna talk tonight)
(I wanna talk tonight)
The lyrics of "Talk Tonight" by Oasis talk about a chance encounter with a stranger who ended up saving the singer's life. The song begins with the singer feeling lonely and far from home, but then something hits him "somewhere right between the eyes," which could be interpreted as a moment of realization or insight. Later on, the singer meets someone who takes care of him and shows him around, even though they hardly know each other. The singer acknowledges that he might hurt this person and leave, but he hopes to come back one day.
The chorus, where the singer repeatedly states "I wanna talk tonight," emphasizes the importance of communication and connection. The singer wants to express his gratitude and maybe even deepen his bond with the person who helped him. The mention of "strawberry lemonade" suggests a childlike and innocent world that the singer wants to immerse himself in, away from the complexities and difficulties of his adult life. The song has a bittersweet quality to it, as the singer is grateful for the moment he's in but also aware that it might not last.

Maybe they are going to release a Deluxe Edition of The Masterplan like they have of Definitely Maybe, (What's the Story) Morning Glory and Be Here Now. I remember reading last year there are more plans for Deluxe Editions of Oasis albums after 'Be Here Now' and with The Masterplan they could make it into a 3CD set and include a lot of the B-sides and rarities it was missing. For example CD2
1) Whatever
2)Let's All Make Believe
3) The Fame
4) Round Are Way
5) (I Got) The Fever
6) Step Out
7) Weight of the World
8) Cloudburst
9) Just Getting Older
10) Alive
11)(As Long As They've Got) Cigarettes In Hell
12) Carry Us All
13) The Quiet Ones
14) Revolution Song
CD3)
1) Lord Don't Slow Me Down
2) See the Sun
3) Boy With the Blues
4) Sad Song
5) I Believe In All
6) Helter Skelter
7) Take Me
8) Flashbax
9) Must Be the Music
10) Pass Me Down The Wine
11) Cum On Feel the Noize
12) Better Let You Know
13) D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman
14) Can You See It Now?? (I Can See It Now)
I would buy that and I know a lot of Oasis fans who want a second B-Sides album so making a Deluxe Edition of The Masterplan would be doing that in a way.

Buying original records in Eastern Europe in the 90s was pretty much impossible. First of all, original records were only available in certain shops and second, you couldn't even afford it. So eastern europe was a pirate records paradise 😂
I remember that it was in April when I got my hands on the fake copy of The Masterplan.
The harsh winter was going away and the sun was warming up the earth. I was wearing my new denim jacket as I wandered into the shop and I saw it. I had only heard outtakes of certain songs on MTV. I was so excited. I ran home and I put it on. Oh it was heaven! Talk Tonight was immediately my favourite, along with The Masterplan and Going Nowhere. I played it for days...on and on, before school, after school. Heavenly, magical music. Beautiful times, beautiful life. Pure happiness, innocence and enjoyment.
I'm still trying to rekindle those feelings from those distant times 😢. Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't... but the music is always with me and gives me hope for better days!
I'm thankful that I was alive when the best band in the world was in their prime

I think that’s his gift as a songwriter. He’s able to tap into emotions in music that can’t be said in his normal life. There’s a lot of vulnerability in this song and yet it’s said with words that won’t get you beaten up “I want to talk to night” because he can’t say “I need you”

Came here looking for this comment, and it's not even the top comment! Fuck me, brilliant from Noel.

Sicarius Angelus I’ve watched supersonic twice but Idk what you’re talking about?
@dylanstewart2697
@@conorneary01 he was in America. No one knew where he was he disappeared. He had done crystal meth which fucks you up badly. He went to this woman's house and she took him in for and kept talking to him all night so he didn't do anything. He didn't even remember her name. Or the place. But he remembers her saving him. Pretty deep.
