In 2007 the former members, minus Steven Drake and adding Murray Atkinson (guitar) reformed under the name "The New Odds", whose MySpace page claimed the new group sounds "a little bit like Odds only not quite." The album Cheerleader was issued by the band under this name. By 2009 the band moved back to their original moniker "Odds"

Eat My Brain
Odds Lyrics

A triple fire alarm
All the other rogues and darlings
Get sent to the farm
I don't need to deceive you
'Cause I fell no pain
Maybe I should let you
There's an art to perception
So see it as you will
Can you adjust my reception?
Just give me the latest pill
I don't need to deceive you
'Cause I feel no pain
Maybe I should let you
Come on and eat my brain
I know you tried to forget me
Well today is remembrance day
So if you're willing then let me
It's time to make your play
I don't need to deceive you
'Cause I feel no pain
Maybe I should let you
Come on and eat my brain
The lyrics presented in the song "Eat My Brain" by Odds explore themes of isolation, perception, and desperation. The first stanza serves to set up the context of the song's narrative by introducing the character of the droopy-eyed madonna, who appears to be struggling with their state of mind. The line "All the other rogues and darlings get sent to the farm" suggests that the character is being ostracized from society and experiencing feelings of isolation. In spite of this, the character appears to find some solace in the idea of having their brain "eaten" by someone else, perhaps to escape their own thoughts and emotions.
The second stanza introduces the idea of perception and how it can be altered by external factors like medication. The line "Can you adjust my reception? Just give me the latest pill" implies that the character is seeking a way to escape their current state of mind, even if it means relying on artificial means to do so. The chorus reaffirms the character's willingness to let someone else "eat their brain" as a means of finding relief.
The final stanza confronts the listener with the reality of the character's situation, as they try to entice someone to "let them make their play." The line "Well today is remembrance day" suggests that the character is looking for some form of connection or validation from someone else, even if it means sacrificing a part of themselves in the process. Overall, these lyrics can be interpreted as a commentary on the destructive nature of mental illness and the lengths that some people will go to in order to find relief from their own minds.

Today is Remembarance Day... Thank you to all the Canadian forces past and present. If it wasn't for your brave sacrifice we would not have such awesome '90s rock. Rock on brothers and sisters... Lest we forget.
@Karmite78
Still lovin' this band after all these years. Keep on rockin' boys!
@UncleAnaesthesia
The production and sound mixing on Odds' records are sheer perfection, even to this day. Everything sounds so crystal clear, well-timed, relevant to the soundscape and equalized. You can tell because it's not one of those old music videos where the volume needs to be cranked to hear it.
@peterblack1639
Canadian Rock Bands in the 90s had that unmistakable sound......also some great low budget videos.....
