Based in the city of central Russia called Ivanovo OLD CHAPEL was known in underground with two unholy releases – 'Tales from the Churchyard' and 'Symptoms of Possession'.

In the end of 2016, after several years of silence, the chapel has opened the gates again to unleash all the demonic creatures dwelling and waiting inside. Inspired by old horror movies and witching rites, the band tells nine chilling stories of horror, decay and possession through their newest album 'Visions from Beyond' (Chaos Records, CR-049). Among the prevailing uncompromising fast-temped tracks 'Visions from Beyond' also incorporates some measured dismal chants in a doom metal vein. Oppressive sound, catchy lead-guitars and bleeding vocals form chilling atmosphere of the album making you feel buried deep under the floor of old cursed chapel.

Kudos to Arthur & people like Jessica. The legwork of such historians (& that's how I describe them) is much appreciated. I also appreciate other transcribers of culture like the late Huell Howser or Mike of YT's German in Venice. Remembering people's history has made me think more closely about the role of cemeteries, grave sites & burial vs cremation.

Arthur's vid reminds me that cremation predates today's era of low carbon & Green Earth ("don't waste land for coffins! Grr"). People who've affected thousands or millions of other people (& who may otherwise want their ashes scattered at sea) have almost a duty to leave behind a permanent resting place. To do what fans of Helen Chandler, Ann Sheridan or Margaret Dumont have done. What fans of Edmund Gwenn want to do---& if by Xmas 2023, perfect timing. As for glass display vaults with mementos, they may not have the centuries-long durability of granite markers in the ground, but they sure are ideal for fans of celebrities. Heck, for anyone. Something like that for Albert Einstein would be off the charts.

BTW, cartoonist Gladys Parker has such a modern, current look, I'd swear she was from around today. When I was a kid, I remember watching the work of actor Nigel Bruce (Dr Watson), director Kurt Newmann (The Fly), HB Warner (Mr Gower), Thomas Mitchell (George's Uncle Billy, Scarlett O'Hara's father). The story of William Selig makes me think of how culture via motion pictures was a part of local history going back well before today's era of WGA & SAG out on strike.

I've seen on YT the 1940's trailer for Miracle on 34th Street & I can tell the people behind that movie were very talented film makers. No wonder they created a classic. And Edmund Gwenn is one its major symbols.

I’m still weepy from this amazing story!! You have always been so respectful in your presentation. Your stories have inspired me to organize our family to place a long over due grave marker on our grandfather’s grave. He passed in 1942 but because of his actions, the family refused to honor him with a marker. Now 81 years later, we are having that done. Everyone deserves a marked eternal resting place. Edmund Gwenn's bio indicated he had some personal challenges in his life, such as one person, upon his death & associated with him towards the end, contesting his will. That probably made the way his remains were handled in 1959 a bit of a social-political quagmire. Regardless, an Oscar winner for his iconic role as Santa in a classic movie has long needed formal honor & tangible remembrance. Over 60 yrs is way too long.a delay

Even if they can't afford a niche then scatter their ashes to nature or the sea. i found a wife on this list whose husband is supposed to be inurned there but his name is not on the list so I contacted the Chapel to see if he is in a niche. I hope so. They need to be back together.

Although I have been watching Hollywood Graveyard for years -- or so it seems, this video moved me to click the subscribe button. Amazing, entertaining, informative and gut wrenching and so sad. This episode was so very different but totally riveting..the ending showing the rescue of Helen Chandler was really moving. It felt almost as if you were giving back their lost dignity to all whose cremated remains lay there. An amazing video.

I used to work at a funeral directors here in England. It always made me feel sad that some poor souls had been on a shelf for years as their cremains were never collected. Thankfully we never had that many and I applaud you for showing such compassion as to list all of these dearly departed souls.

You chanel helped me during the COVID-19 pandemic by inspiring me to get out and explore my local cemeterys and thanks to you I have a unique hobby.
I've found more of my family by visiting the cleburn county historical society and researching them going out the cemetery and finding the resting places of my kin.

I found this an incredibly emotional and moving episode; I was really touched when you mentioned that you intentionally said the person's name out loud. Very very moving and finding Ed Gwenn was the icing on the cake. As a cemetery enthusiast and film history nut, I truly appreciate all the work you've put in to see that some of these forgotten stars receive a more dignified resting place. Thanks to a wonderful book my father had, I'm familiar with most of the silent-era notables down in the vaults. It's very sobering to learn what's become of once famous, well-to-do individuals after they've long left the earth. I've been to cemeteries like Forest Lawn, Hollywood Forever, Rose Hills and others. Even my hometown cemetery, Mountain View in Altadena, CA has a few greats in it. However, I never considered that even celebrities can wind up hidden away in a box, never getting monuments, tombs, or headstones to commemorate them.Thank you for caring. Had I still been living in the LA area, I would have loved helping you organize the vaults. I'm in San Diego now, and someday hope to check out a couple of the cemeteries that house a few stars. Barbara Payton, known mostly for her scandalous off-screen antics is in a cemetery here. I'm new to your channel and I look forward to more of your excellent virtual tours.

Given the mistakes I found on monument ownership at a local cemetery, it's appalling to see the issues seem to be widespread.😢 The dead deserve better. That said, it's encouraging to know some of these errors are being corrected by good folks like you. It was so emotional to watch you saying again the names of the dead and insuring they are remembered. The moving of some of the urns to the public niche areas was also heartening. Thank you.

This is amazing. All those lives with their hopes & fears & dreams down in that basement in little boxes. Such a worthwhile project, well done! My father's ashes are missing, misplaced by the funeral home that handled his cremation. I hope one day some kind soul comes across them & contacts me like you've done for these families.

This is beautiful, you and Jessica deserve an award for cataloguing the ashes in the Vaults. I am so glad you found Edmund Gwenn and contacting his next of kin. It is so obvious and wonderful showing how much you care about the people that you visit. 1 more thing, giving a new nameplate for William Selig, very thoughtful. About the babies and children in the Rose Vault, I believe they are all Angels watching over their loved ones.

This was a truly emotional episode. You gave so much respect to all the cremated remains. I just can't imagine someone getting misplaced but it does happen probably more so then not. Finding Ed Gwenn ---I had tears in my eyes.
