1. Olive Sheffield, England : Two of its members, producers Tim Kellett and Robin Taylor-Firth, had departed from their respective groups, Simply Red and Nightmares on Wax, prior to forming Olive with vocalist Ruth Ann Boyle, who Kellett had met while recording her vocals for live manipulation at a concert by The Durutti Column.
The group released their first single, "You're Not Alone" in 1996. Although the song took a year for audiences in England to catch on to, it eventually made number one in 1997. Popularity in America and Australia was muted, with the track coming short of an American Top 40 position and being restricted to a small musical niche with Australians. "Outlaw" followed not long after, with similar responses, as well as their first album, Extra Virgin in 1996.
In 2000, their presciently-named second album Trickle was released. Taylor-Firth had left the group, bringing it down to a duo. While Trickle still displayed the distinctive Olive sound, the tunes were more dance-oriented. The best-known song on this album was a cover of the 10cc song "I'm Not in Love," which was featured on the movie The Next Best Thing.
Since then, like many trip-hop bands, little has been heard of them. The band have stopped working together for the moment. Tim is focusing on songwriting for other artists so that he can spend more time with his family. Ruth Ann completed work on her first solo album "What About Us?" at the end of 2004.

5. Olive, Olivia Latuputty, the Indonesian young Jazz Female vocalist with nearly Ayako Hosokawa's breath inside.
Curious
Olive Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Straight as a dye
On us we rely
Yet watch how my head is turning
Distracting my eye
[Bridge:]
It's no reflection on you,
Troubled by the thought of it,
I can't deny
[Chorus:]
That I'm curious, never meant to hurt you
Just curious, I can't deny
That I'm curious, never have deceived you
Just curious, I cannot lie
[Verse 2]
Give me a reason
I'll hide my delight
Shamelessly I'll seize the moment
Just my needs in sight
[Repeat Bridge & Chorus]
Olive's song "Curious" is a poignant representation of human curiosity and its potential to cause harm. The first verse of the song talks about relying on others but simultaneously being distracted by their surroundings. This sets the tone for the song to be about being curious about something but not necessarily wanting to act upon that curiosity. The singer discusses head-turning, which could be indicative of feeling something pull them in a different direction, but being conflicted about whether to follow that pull or stay put.
The bridge discusses not wanting to hurt others, but also feeling troubled by the curiosity. This shows that while curiosity can be harmless and innocent, it can also be problematic and cause internal conflict. The chorus emphasizes the singer's curiosity, but repeatedly emphasizes that they do not want to hurt anyone. The repetition of "just curious" could be indicative of them trying to convince themselves (or others) that their curiosity is not ill-intentioned.
In the second verse, the singer is willing to act on their curiosity if given a reason to do so. This highlights the idea that curiosity can often lead to taking risks or making decisions that one may not have without that internal pull.
Overall, "Curious" is a song that explores the complexity of human curiosity and how it can be both innocent and problematic. It emphasizes the potential for harm and the internal conflict that can arise if one gives in to their curiosity.
