Gemini
One Inch Punch Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

What´s that you said
And could you please
Leave the door ajar

What´s that you posed?
Tell me how that goes
And who else knows? she knows
Questions in your mind,
Trying hard to find.
But simply be for you and you and he

Rollin' through the hills with a tune in my brain
Rally rims on the tires fuck the big gold chain
Hotbox the car and then we off to the next,
Cause gemini is the song upon the 8-track deck

Did you come to win?
Or do you hope to lose?
You have to choose

Do you have regrets?
Did you forget?
How much you lose your blues

Never mention me too much for you
In spite of he! sullen memory

She was the kissing type,
Loved teddy bears,
She loves getting high
She´s got a washed out nose
And ashed on sleeves
Nobody loves her
Everyone loves her,

Now she´s gone, now she´s gone
What´s left for me scatter beings these.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to One Inch Punch's song "Gemini" reflect the struggle of a person trying to understand their emotions and the world around them. Most of the lines in the lyrics are questions either directed at someone else or posed to oneself. The first few lines are asking someone to leave the door ajar and for them to speak up because they haven't heard them. The following lines are directed at the same person, asking them what they mean and who else knows what they know. This sets the tone for the song, as the rest of it is spent asking questions, looking for answers, and reflecting on life.

The next part of the lyrics describes someone rolling through hills, hotboxing in their car, and listening to "Gemini" on the 8-track deck. This person seems carefree and enjoys living in the moment. However, the carefree tone changes as the lyrics shift back to questioning life's purpose and one's sense of self. They ask the listener if they came to win or lose, and if they have any regrets or if they forgot how much they lose their blues. This person wants to know if the listener is happy with their life, or if they are questioning the path they have taken.

The last part of the lyrics describes a person who loved teddy bears and getting high, but who nobody loves. The song ends on a melancholic note, leaving the listener with a feeling of introspection and questioning the meaning of life.

Has anyone got a vid of the official music video for this song? It had a bunch of guys wandering the streets at night picking fights and doing martial arts and started with them sitting around a table talking about unifying and conquering. I loved it as a kid way back in 1995, but it doesn’t seem to exist on the internet. Anyone got a copy for upload?
