Devereaux
"Listen very closely. You a Juggalo, you are not alone. Let′s go"
They will never understand us (Understand us) huh
We ain't nothin′ like our parents (No we not) huh
That's why we got the advantage (We do) huh
They will never understand us (Understand us) huh
They won't ever understand us (Understand us)
With that blank face starin′ at a canvas (They confused) huh
That′s why we got the advantage (Yes we do) huh
They will never understand us (Understand us) oh, yuh
Swear these bitches, they will never know
'Cause they don′t wanna know about a thuggalo, ay
Swear it feels like they will never know
About a Juggalo, about a thuggalo, ay

Places I been (I been) huh, never fit in (Nah) huh
Won't let me play, huh, how can I win, huh?
Knock on the door (Let′s go) huh, won't let me in (They won′t) huh
'Cause all my killers pull up with paint on they skin (Fuck 'em)
Some are like J, (Yup) some are like Shaggs (Uh huh)
Others got face tats with choppers and flags (Rydas)
Some ain′t got shit, (Yup) some gettin′ bags
At the end of the day, family is all that we have (I love 'em)

Swear these bitches, they will never know
′Cause they don't wanna know about a thuggalo, ay
Swear it feels like they will never know
About a Juggalo, about a thuggalo, ay

What is a Juggalo? I don′t know
But if that's what it is, then fuck if I know
What is a thuggalo? I don′t know
But if that's what it is, then fuck if I know

Fuck the government and everybody for it (You a bitch)
Fuck the rebel flag and anyone that hold it (Fuck your mama)
Fuck the racists, pedophiles, and transphobics (Fuckin' bigots)
Homophobics suck dick and we all know it (We gon′ get it)
Fuck the Bible and the idiot who wrote it (Bitch, you stupid)
They preach slavery up in that shit, so how can y′all support it?
We a family, my purpose is to grow it (Standin' tall)
Some of y′all are Juggalos and don't know it (Don′t know it)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Ouija Macc's "Understand Us" are an ode to the Juggalo subculture, an alternative movement that originated from the fan base of the rap group Insane Clown Posse. The song's chorus repeats the mantra "They will never understand us," which is a nod to the feelings of isolation that Juggalos often experience as they struggle to find acceptance in mainstream society. Ouija Macc goes on to highlight the ways that Juggalos deviate from mainstream expectations and reject the values of their parents and society at large, celebrating the unique advantages Juggalos have as a result of their outsider status.

In the first verse, Ouija Macc raps about the exclusion and discrimination that Juggalos often experience, particularly in areas where their unconventional style and love for face paint clash with societal norms. He emphasizes that Juggalos are a diverse group of people with different backgrounds and lifestyles, but that they are united as a family who support each other unconditionally. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the idea that Juggalos are misunderstood but are ultimately stronger because of their shared struggles.

The second verse of the song is a rallying cry against authority figures and people who reject Juggalos. Ouija Macc takes jabs at racism, homophobia, and organized religion, championing the idea that Juggalos are a non-conformist family that supports each other no matter what. The song ends with the same chorus repeating, reiterating the message that despite the criticism and misunderstanding from outsiders, Juggalos will always stick together.
