Independent
Overtime Lyrics
Ya, ya, ya, ya
Fuck a label independent ima do it all,
I don't need a co-sign yo fuck 'em all,
Why give a percentage for fuck anything,
Already gave the game a damn wedding ring,
And I me-me-me-me-meant it from the heart,
A jack of all trades guess I'm jackin' off,
A little asshole and chauvinistic,
But got a little money and a pot to piss in,
So really I just see it as I'm optimistic,
Ain't no fuckin' way I'll be another statistic,
I made it in a way that you can buy into my visions,
Stop and listen to the shit you've been conditioned to overrate,
And take a look at all the independent juggernauts,
I'm a fan of all the people with a long shot,
Steph Curry on a record exec.
We are the framers of the industry don't ever forget,
I'm puttin' on myself,
And I don't need your help,
Took a long shot stay to my freeway,
Told 'em all to clear the way for my runway,
Takin' off on the strength of my wordplay,
On my independent hustle,
Tell me what this independent really mean to you,
It means put the footwork and don't come to you,
I count all my blessings and I hope you do to,
I get out and get it, don't worry bout others, do you nah,
When it comes I do it, ima live for me,
You only live one life that's why I'm out here, fuck sleep,
The smell of early mornings (yeah) steppin' out the tele (yeah)
I got a blunt twisted up to get me right, you feel me (yeah)
The world is yours to do what you got to each your hustle
Get it if you feel me mayne,
Man fuck them ain't nobody throw the beat down, rain and snow I got ya,
Can you even feel it now?
You gotta get out and get it through the ups and downs you gotta steady work hard, (to get your hustle)
Man Overtime I just don't get it, I think they just don't get it,
Can you even hear me now?
In the middle of my mind you'll find,
A little voice inside, that I've,
Confined but it's time that I let it out,
Tell the world that I doubt that they're ready now,
Who'd of thought that I'd make it now,
Got a lot of anger and I'll take it out,
On the motha fuckin' industry that shut me out,
They gonna love me how, ain't a puppet now, oh,
Tell them all I'm comin' with an army now,
Illumni we the motha fuckin' party now,
And we're hardly even gettin' started out,
600 members around the world, what's that,
It's a reason to believe or get the fu-ck back,
Believe it when we say we've been innovative,
Inundated with haters that hate us for the level of success,
Independent mutha fucka it's a way of life,
I ain't givin' up a penny for my vocal mic,
What you think you can divvy up a hundred racks,
Just so I can pay you back times ten, fuck that,
I'm my own boss, on my own dime,
Tour when I want, on my own grind,
Climb up the ladder on the strength of my own ryhme,
See you in a city near you, yo Overtime,
Tell me what this independent really mean to you,
It means put the footwork and don't come to you,
I count all my blessings and I hope you do to,
I get out and get it, don't worry bout others, do you nah,
