From a space that's no larger than a dime
And all that glitters, glitters all the time
Oh man, she's a find
Eight times eight
Eight times eight
Eight times eight
And I think it's high time that I figure out
Without a question
And without a doubt
What it was that was what I was all about
The lyrics to Oxbow's song "She's a Find" are intriguing and open to various interpretations. At first glance, the lyrics present a metaphorical description of a person who is rare and admirable. The opening lines compare the stars' glittery shine to the person's qualities that are confined to a small space but still exude magnificence. The repetition in the chorus further emphasizes the singer's admiration for the person's greatness, which he repeats eight times. The choice to repeat the line "Eight times eight" is not clear, but it could signify infinity or the endless feeling of admiration.
The last verse suggests that the singer has been going through a phase of self-discovery, and meeting this rare person was an awakening moment for him. He states that it's high time he figures out what he's all about, implying that this person's qualities have provided direction to the singer's self-realization journey. He's now sure about what he wants and who he wants to be with.
In summary, "She's a Find" is a song about a person who is rare, admirable, and a source of inspiration for the singer. The singer's admiration is so intense that it has triggered a self-discovery journey, which he's confident about, thanks to the person he met.
