So Tired
Ozzy Osbourne Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I know it's gonna make you cry
But you belong to another my love
And half a love that just isn't enough
I am so tired
And I just can't wait around for you
I am so tried
I've waited all this time for you
Believed your promises were true
I keep believing that you mean what you say
You'll leave tomorrow - now tomorrow's today
And I often sit and wonder why
You're not with me tonight
I stayed at home remaining true
While you were out with you know who
I am so tired
And I just can't wait around for you
I am so tried
And I always thought we would see it through
The lyrics in Ozzy Osbourne's song "So Tired" discuss the end of a relationship from the perspective of the person who is leaving. The lyrics express an understanding that this decision will hurt the other person and acknowledges that they will likely cry. However, the person singing the song knows that their love interest belongs to someone else and that the love they have for them is not enough to sustain a relationship. They are tired of waiting around for something that they know will not work out.
The lyrics suggest that the singer has been waiting for some time, believing that their love interest's promises were true. They have continuously held onto the hope that their love interest meant what they said about leaving their current relationship, but each day that passes, this promise becomes less and less likely. The singer talks about sitting and wondering why their love interest is not with them, even though they have been faithful while the love interest continues to see someone else.
Overall, the lyrics in "So Tired" describe the emotional turmoil that comes with the end of a relationship that was once believed to be a forever thing. The melancholic tone of the song mixed with the somber chorus, "I am so tired, and I just can't wait around for you," perfectly captures the feelings of sadness and resignation that come with giving up on a love that was once hoped to work out.
