When I feel down I want you above me
I search myself, I want you to find me
I forget myself, I want you to remind me
I don't want anybody else
When I think about you I touch myself
Oh, I don't want anybody else
You're the one who makes me come running
You're the sun who makes me shine
When you're around I'm always laughing
I want to make you mine
I close my eyes, I see you before me
I might die if you were to ignore me
A fool could see just how much I adore you
I'm down on my knees I do anything for you
I don't want anybody else
When I think about you I touch myself
Oh, I don't want anybody else
Oh no, oh no, oh no
The lyrics of Pink's song "I Touch Myself" are possibly some of the most revealing and intimate lyrics ever sung. The song can be interpreted in many different ways, but one of its primary themes seems to be self-love and self-pleasure. Pink sings about loving herself and wanting someone else to love her in the same way. She uses the metaphor of touching herself to express this desire for love and connection. Additionally, Pink seems to be saying that when she thinks about the person she loves, it brings her pleasure and comfort, and she doesn't want anyone else.
The lyrics are open to interpretation, but it seems that "I Touch Myself" is about Pink discovering and celebrating her own sexuality. The line "When I feel down, I want you above me" could be interpreted as a reference to masturbation, and the line "A fool could see just how much I adore you, I'm down on my knees I do anything for you" could be interpreted as a willingness to explore sexually with a partner. Overall, the song celebrates the power of self-love and the importance of taking care of one's own needs.
One interesting fact about "I Touch Myself" is that it was originally recorded by the Australian band The Divinyls in 1990. The song was a hit, but it wasn't until Pink covered it in 2018 that it became a feminist anthem. Another interesting fact is that the song was written by two men (Mark McEntee and Billy Steinberg), which has led to some criticism of the song's message. Despite this, Pink has defended the song, saying that it's important for women to take ownership of their own bodies and sexuality.

As a long time fan of Divinyls, I must say, I think Chrissy would love this. RIP Miss Amphlett. Chrissy passed away from breast cancer and this song became an anthem for the breast cancer organisations.
