1) EBM solo project of Sextile vocalist Brady Keehn. Soundscaping a fogged-out fatalistic-future…. this is Panther Modern and this is ‘Los Angeles 2020’. This is where it was always heading…the neon brightens, the beats get bigger, the bodies move... from the fluorescent husk of Sextile... Panther Modern has something to say. This is a future-past, where Neuromancer aesthetic meets synthetic EBM pleasure... Panther Modern handles every facet of Keehn’s latest techno-vision, and finds the ever-evolving Keehn combining the audio/visual components buried deep within his programming into one cohesive project. Panther Modern is an exciting new audio/visual project by Brady Keehn (of recently defunct LA outfit Sextile). His self-released debut EP, aptly titled ‘Los Angeles 2020’, is out now. The 4-track EP was written, recorded and produced by Brady Keehn and mastered by Maurizio Baggio (The Soft Moon, Boy Harsher, Merchandise, Niños Du Brasil).

Take Me Off
Panther Modern Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
As they move there
They will reset
Always watching
And I return
Oh I return
They got issues
I got issues
As they set in
I got no pen
They will waste it
And I′ll just watch it
I've got no verse
What you doin
I got issues
They got issues
Did you see them?
As they move there
They will reset
Always watching
And I return
Oh I return
They got issues
I got issues
As they set in
I got no pen
They will waste it
And I′ll just watch it
I've got no verse
What you doin
I got issues
They got issues
The lyrics to Panther Modern's song "Take Me Off" are cryptic and open to interpretation. The repetition of "they got issues, I got issues" suggests that the singer is comparing themselves to a group of people or an entity that is constantly watching and resetting. The line "As they set in, I got no pen" could mean the singer is struggling to write or create, perhaps due to feeling creatively stifled by this group. The line "They will waste it, and I'll just watch it" implies that the group is wasting something valuable, while the singer is powerless to do anything about it.
The singer seems to be caught in a cycle: the group resets and watches, and the singer returns to the same situation, still struggling with their own issues. The repetition of the line "always watching" and the use of the word "reset" suggest a feeling of being trapped or controlled. The lack of clarity around who or what this group is adds a layer of mysteriousness to the lyrics.
Overall, the song seems to be expressing feelings of frustration, powerlessness, and being caught in a cycle. The use of repetitive lyrics and a driving beat contribute to a sense of restlessness and urgency.
