Let The Flames Begin
Paramore搀 Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

What a shame we all became such fragile, broken things
A memory remains, just a tiny spark
I give it all my oxygen, to let the flames begin
To let the flames begin

Oh glory
Oh glory
This is how we'll dance when
When they try to take us down
This is what we'll be, oh glory

Somewhere weakness is our strength, and I'll die searching for it
I can't let myself regret, such selfishness
My pain and all the trouble caused, no matter how long
I believe that there's hope

Buried beneath it all and
Hiding beneath it all and
Growing beneath it all and

This is how we'll dance when
When they try to take us down
This is how we'll sing oh
This is how we'll stand when
When they burn our houses down
This is what we'll be, oh glory

Reaching as I sink down into light (To light)
Reaching as I sink down into light (To light)

This is how we dance when
When they try to take us down
This is how we'll sing oh
This is how we'll stand when

When they burn our houses down
This is what we'll be, oh glory

The song seems to be a call to arms in the face of adversity. It is an anthem of resilience and hope in the face of the worst of things. The words "This is how we'll dance, When they try to take us down" and "This is how we'll stand when, When they try to burn our houses down" are a statement that when we face a crisis, the only way we can respond is with courage, resolve, and a fierce determination to survive.

"Somewhere weakness is strength
And I die searching for it"

"But I believe that there's hope
Buried beneath it all
And hiding beneath it all and
Growing beneath it all"

This song is just the best of their album lyrically.

@islab2458

"You made yourself a bed
At the bottom of the blackest hole (Blackest hole)
And you'll sleep 'til May and you'll say
That you don't want to see the sun anymore"

And

"Pain, make your way to me, to me
And I'll always be just so (So) inviting
If I ever start to think straight
This heart will start a riot in me"

And basically the entirety of "We Are Broken." Lyrically I think these are far superior examples of the best of this album.

@FLmanispretty

I don’t know why, but whenever I listen to this song it reminds me of the Series of Unfortunate Events. I just feel like it suits the situation that the Baudelaire orphans find themselves in perfectly, like their house being burned down.
“This is how we'll dance when
When they try to take us down
This is how we'll sing oh
This is how we'll stand when
When they burn our houses down
This is what we'll be, oh glory.”

A memory remains, just a tiny spark could be for remembering their parents. Somewhere weaknesses or strengths, I don’t know maybe Sunny’s pointy teeth or the freaks at the carnival (don’t even get me started on the dummy who thinks being ambidextrous was a curse and not a blessing 🙄)

And part 2 could be the Penultimate Peril when they are in the hotel spying and trying to figure out who is good or bad
“I question every human who won't look in my eyes”
And when they have to start fires and end up in the same boat as Olaf, then being stuck on the island in the last book, unravel long more mysteries, seeing Olaf in a different light before he dies etc.
“Dancing all alone
To the sound of an enemy's song
I'll be lost until you find me
Fighting on my own
In a war that's already been won
I'll be lost until you come and find me here
Oh, glory”

I’ll be lost until you come find me; searching for J.S. or waiting for Quigley/Kit Snicket in the last book?

“What a mess, what a mystery we've made
Of love and other simple things
Learning to forgive even when it wasn't a mistake
I question every human who won't look in my eyes
Scars left on my heart formed patterns in my mind.”
Ugh need I say more! So that’s why this is my ultimate anthem for Violet Klause and Sunny thanks for reading♥️
