For a Pessimist I'm Pretty Optimistic
Paramore Lyrics
Just talk yourself up
And tear yourself down
You've built your one wall
Now find your way around
What's the problem?
You've got a lot of nerve
So what did you think I would say?
No, you can't run away, you can't run away
So what did you think I would say?
You wouldn't
I never wanted to say this
You never wanted to stay
I put my faith in you, so much faith
And then you just threw it away
You threw it away
I'm not so naive
My sorry eyes can see
The way you fight shy
Of almost everything
Well, if you give up
You'll get what you deserve
So what did you think I would say?
No, you can't run away, you can't run away
So what did you think I would say?
No, you can't run away, you can't run away
You wouldn't
I never wanted to say this
You never wanted to stay
I put my faith in you, so much faith
And then you just threw it away
You threw it away
You were finished long before
We had even seen the start
Why don't you stand up, be a man about it?
Fight with your bare hands about it now
I never wanted to say this
You never wanted to stay, well did you?
I put my faith in you, so much faith
And then you just threw it away
I never wanted to say this
You never wanted to stay
And I put my faith in you, so much faith
And then you just threw it away

Put a lot of effort into a friendship and totally got fucked over. This song describes my situation. Putting so much effort into someone and they don't even do the same for you. But never wanting to say it, and they would never take the first step to end the friendship. Though it's been nasty from pretty much the beginning. Honestly this song is helping me out!! Paramore always helps me out in the nastiest of shenanigans!!
Ariel
I'm 23 and still feel that way, people either can't give what you are willing to give them so the effort isn't reciprocated or people won't take any accountability for being hurtful or inconsiderate of other people's feelings.
The NorthStar
Same! I got screwed over in my friendship before I graduated high school and I listened to the song the night before graduation so it's a song that reminds you graduation but also that one part of the song reminds me of how/explains how I got screwed over because I was the only one that put effort into it.

my friend slowly started gohsting me and when i said sumthing abt it she like got super defensive and said she just different now and said sum stuff that hurt my feelings then acted like the victim when our other friends found out then blocked litterally 10 friends all because she thought she was to cool now. super sad because i was always good to her and she was always good to me then she randomly started hating me. she was my only friend too lol
