it's over now
Particle Thief Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We're here now
It's come to this
We don't know to do
The things we saw before
We swore we'd never be
But it's happening to you

And I don't know how you let this be a part of you no
And I don't know how I just sit back and watch you fall

We're here now and you haven't said a word
Is this the time to bring up all the pain I have
It's clear now, you've said all you need to say
Now that it's said, we can learn to be again

Wasted
Trust faded
It's hard for you to try to find the time
So distant
Indifferent
We've wasted all our time

Wasted
Trust faded
It's hard for you to try to find the time
So distant
Indifferent
We've wasted all our time

It's over
It's over now
It's over

It's over
It's over now

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Particle Thief's "It's Over Now" seem to express a bitter sense of disappointment and betrayal. The opening lines "We're here now, it's come to this, we don't know what to do" imply a sense of helplessness and despair as the singer faces a situation that is out of their control. They seem to be at a loss for words as they try to grapple with the things they saw before that they never thought would happen to them. The next line "But it's happening to you" suggests that someone has been hurt and that the singer no longer recognizes the person that they used to be. In the chorus, the singer laments their inability to understand or help the person they care about as they let themselves fall.

The second verse of the song is particularly poignant as the singer admits their own part in the breakdown of the relationship. They say, "And I don't know how I just sit back and watch you fall" suggesting that they have been complicit in the suffering of their loved one. The lines "Is this the time to bring up all the pain I have? It's clear now, you've said all you need to say" indicate that there has been some kind of confrontation or argument, and the relationship is irreparably damaged. Despite this, the singer suggests that it's still possible to learn to be again, to pick up the pieces and start over.

Incredible work guys. Been following you since Moments, and loving the progress into this!

@JDStoneCreations

Gives me similar vibes to Moments than later SA, but also has a fresh more refined sound. Absolutely awesome on first listen. Come next payday I'm buying it!

@johoff1

phils screams are dope.

@DrFoo11

Really cool album! I think I came here from an Andrew Baena video, but I don't remember. The Fall is my favorite track .

@tobiassaglio2440

Moments is still one of my most favourite albums. Same for Aeons I imported from the UK, for I didn't get it in Germany. Your sound is so unique and every time I turn on one of the records, it catches me from start to finish. Is this some kind of hypnosis? Don't care, just keep it up! 🤘

@RasKiddo

Was thinking about 47 days later, researching what's new from SA, then I find out you've changed name AND dropped an album. \m/

@luzthebuz2452

Bruh, the fall ending fucking slams. Grooving out for the majority of the song, and then that ending feels like I hit the bottom.

@Jimmy_Jim_Jim_1234

Will this be sold on a physical C.D?

@KopoLPedov

why are you guys renamed?

@grin_oleg

They thought that this "rebranding" will refresh and give more popularity to them I suppose. But it turned out the opposite, unfortunately. At least for now.
