Sunny, you smiled at me and really eased the pain.
The dark days are gone, and the bright days are here,
My sunny one shines so sincere.
Sunny one so true, I love you.
Sunny, thank you for the sunshine bouquet.
Sunny, thank you for the love you brought my way.
Now I feel ten feet tall.
Sunny one so true, I love you.
Sunny
The dark days are gone, and the bright days are here,
My sunny one shines so sincere.
Sunny one so true, I love you.
Sunny, thank you for the smile upon your face.
Sunny, thank you for the gleam that shows its grace.
You're my spark of natures fire,
You're my sweet complete desire.
Sunny one so true, I love you.
Sunny, thank you for the truth you let me see.
Sunny, thank you for the facts from a to c.
My life was torn like a windblown sand,
And the rock was formed when you held my hand.
Sunny one so true, I love you.
In Paul Carrack’s song ‘Sunny’, the lyrics describe the transformation in the singer’s life from a dark, rainy period, to a bright, joyful present. The song begins with comparing his life to being filled with rain but then finding solace in the smile of his partner, who has helped ease the pain. As the chorus repeats, “Sunny one so true, I love you,” there is a sense of gratitude and appreciation for this person who has brought light into the singer’s life.
The second verse continues the theme of gratitude, thanking his partner for bringing love and filling his life with sunshine. As a result, the singer feels an immense sense of confidence and heighted self-esteem. The following verses continue to express gratitude towards his partner for the positive impact she has had and how being with her has rejuvenated him. The final verse thanks her for providing him with truth and understanding, showing her impact in helping him solidify his sense of identity during an uncertain time. The song ends on a cheerful note, expressing a deep sense of love and admiration for his partner.
