I've Got A Feeling
Paul McCartney Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I've got a feeling, a feeling deep inside
Oh yeah, oh yeah, that's right
I've got a feeling, a feeling I can't hide
No no no, oh no, oh no
Yeah yeah I've got a feeling yeah

Oh please believe me, I'd hate to miss the train
Oh yeah, yeah, oh yeah
And if you leave me I won't be late again
Oh no, oh no, oh no
Yeah yeah I've got a feeling yeah
I've got a feeling

All these years I've been wandering around
Wondering how come nobody told me
All that I was looking for was somebody
Who looked like you

I've got a feeling, that keeps me on my toes
Oh yeah, oh yeah
I've got a feeling, I think that everybody knows
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah
Yeah yeah I've got a feeling yeah
Yeah

Everybody had a hard year
Everybody had a good time
Everybody had a wet dream
Everybody saw the sunshine
Oh yeah (oh yeah), oh yeah, oh yeah
Everybody had a good year
Everybody let their hair down
Everybody pulled their socks up
Everybody put their foot down
Oh yeah

Yeah I've got a feeling
A feeling deep inside
Oh yeah

Oh yeah

I've got a feeling
A feeling I can't hide
Oh no

Oh no no no

Yeah yeah
I've got a feeling

I've got a feeling

Everybody had a good year
Everybody had a hard time

Everybody had a wet dream

Everybody saw the sunshine

Everybody had a good year
Everybody let their hair down

Everybody pulled their socks up

Everybody put the foot down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah

Oh yeah

I've got a feeling
Yeah yeah yeah yeah

Overall Meaning

"I’ve Got a Feeling" by Paul McCartney is a song about a deep inner feeling that the singer can't hide. The song opens with the line, "I've got a feeling, a feeling deep inside," which immediately sets the tone for the rest of the song. The feeling is a positive one, and the singer repeats the phrase, "oh yeah, oh yeah, that's right," to emphasize the point. However, there is an underlying sense of sadness throughout the song that comes from the fear of missing out on something important. The singer hopes that whoever they are talking to will believe them when they say they don't want to miss out.

The song then moves on to talk about the singer's search for someone who looks like the person they are talking to. They reflect on all the years they spent wandering around, searching for someone who looked like the person they are now with. This reveals that the feeling the singer is singing about is likely love. People tend to keep their love hidden inside because they are afraid of getting hurt or rejected. This explains why the singer says, "I've got a feeling, a feeling I can't hide, oh no, oh no," since they don't want to be rejected by the person they love.

Overall, "I’ve Got a Feeling" is a song about the fear of missing out on something important, the search for love, and the fear that comes with hiding one's true feelings. The song has a great upbeat melody that matches the positive feelings being expressed throughout the song.

I don't understand why people complain about his voice. He sings wonderfully for being 80

@WeegeeFan1Studios

@Paul McCartney If that is true, is there any particular reason that you joined on December 29th?

You realize that you can possibly put on your ACTAUL official channel that you have a community-type account?

I'm very very sure that ain't you tho mr. "McCartney"

@PC4USE1

In this song,I would tend to agree. I think the chance to 'sing' with his mate,John reinvigorates his voice. He reaches high notes that he cannot reach at other times. We all age but Paul is a musical genius and no one can ever take that away from him.
