Weller's eleventh studio album, Sonik Kicks, was released on 19 March 2012. The Green Songfacts reports that it was recorded in Weller’s own Black Barn Studios in Ripley, Surrey, with co-producer Simon Dine and engineer Charles Rees.
Born John William Weller in Stanley Road, Woking, he was also a central figure in the Mod revival. As the leader of the Jam, Paul Weller fronted the most popular British band of the punk era, influencing legions of English rockers that ranged from his mod-revival contemporaries to the Smiths in the '80s and Oasis in the '90s. During the final days of the Jam, he developed a fascination with Motown and soul, which led him to form the sophisti-pop group the Style Council in 1983. As the Style Council's career progressed, Weller's interest in soul developed into an infatuation with jazz-pop and house music, which eventually led to gradual erosion of his audience — by 1990, he couldn't get a record contract in the UK, where he had previously been worshipped as a demi-god. As a solo artist, Weller returned to soul music as an inspiration, cutting it with the progressive, hippie tendencies of Traffic. Weller's solo records were more organic and rootsier than the Style Council, which helped him regain his popularity within Britain. By the mid-'90s, he had released three successful albums which were both critically-acclaimed and massively popular in England, where contemporary bands like Ocean Colour Scene were citing him as an influence. Just as importantly, many observers, while occasionally criticizing the trad-rock nature of his music, acknowledged that Weller was one of the few rock veterans that had managed to stay vital within the second decade of his career.

Hope the time will never come
I'm not out to steal your money
Wanna spend my time with you
Walkin' through this world in wonder
Wonder if I'll ever change
I can say I look at you grow up
Think of all the places I wanna go
Wanna go there now with you
I think of all the places I've been to
Big times that I want with you
Walkin' through this world in wonder
Wonder if I'll ever change
I can say I look at you grow up
I just don't know why we do
Grasp & still connect
Grasp & still connect
Grasp & still connect
Grasp & still connect
We're together till the good Lord takes us
Keep it special, I love you
I'm not out to steal your money
Wanna spend some time with you
Walkin' through this world in wonder
Wonder if I'll ever change
I can say I look at you grow up
I just don't know why we do
Grasp & still connect
Grasp & still connect
Grasp & still connect
The lyrics of Paul Weller's song Grasp & Still Connect seem to be about the singer's desire to spend more time with someone who doesn't seem interested in having him around. He wonders why this person doesn't want him and hopes that the time will never come when they won't be able to spend time together. Although he acknowledges that he doesn't want any of their money, he still wants to be close to them. He thinks about all the places he's been and all the places he wants to go with this person, and he wants to share those experiences with them. The repeated refrain of "Grasp & still connect" seems to suggest that despite any obstacles or difficulties in their relationship, he wants to hold on and keep their connection strong.
The chorus of the song is particularly poignant, with its repetition of the phrase "Walkin' through this world in wonder." The singer seems to be expressing a sense of awe and appreciation for the world around him, but also a sadness or uncertainty about his place in it. He looks at this other person growing up and wonders why things have turned out the way they have. It's unclear whether they were once close and have grown apart, or if he has always been on the outside looking in. Either way, he wants to hold on to what they have and make it special.
Overall, the lyrics of Grasp & Still Connect suggest a longing for connection and a desire to keep relationships strong, even in the face of challenges. The repeated refrain of "Grasp & still connect" is a powerful reminder that even when things get difficult or confusing, it's important to hold on to the things that matter most.

I've been subscribed to this channel for a while, but i don't recall seeing any other videos for quite a while... so i'm not at all up to date: is this a new song, a new album? or a new performance of an older song. He's such an amazing talent.... and the interview that leads off this channel, it's so inspiring. No artifice, a ton of humility, and a strong work ethic --- that's all in addition to being a great musician & songwriter.
