Agua Bendita
Pedro Capó Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Será cómo me miras
Agua bendita, agua bendita
Me enreda, mi amor, me llama
Y a mí tú me encantas toda
Tienes algo que me emboba
Será la luna llena
Será cómo me miras
Agua bendita, agua bendita
De tu pintalabios, rojo dinamita
Agua bendita, agua bendita
Agua bendita, agua bendita
Echa pa' aca un besito
Para la trompita
Agua bendita, agua bendita
Agua bendita, agua bendita
Agua bendita
Sólo una gotita
The lyrics of Pedro Capó's song "Agua Bendita" tell the story of a mesmerizing encounter with a woman named Raquelita. At first sight, the singer is captivated by her beauty and sees her as an angel that he had wished for. She is described as the most beautiful girl from Mayagüe, creating an illusion or mirage-like effect in his eyes.
The singer considers Raquelita as a precious gift bestowed upon him by destiny. He suggests going for a walk in paradise together, emphasizing that he is willing to do anything for her. The lyrics portray his infatuation and his willingness to be enamored by her, while Raquelita teases him by asking if he doesn't do anything. However, the singer compliments her, telling her to stop with the pretenses and acknowledging her appealing charm.
The song beautifully describes the attraction and allure the singer feels towards Raquelita. He expresses a desire to be her muse, uncovering the mystery behind her captivating eyes. The singer attributes her enchanting characteristics to the power of a full moon, the way she looks at him, and the spellbinding effect she has on him. He compares himself to a candle lighting up at her altar, a healer of his sorrows, desperately seeking just a small amount of her "agua bendita" (blessed water).
In the second part of the song, the focus slightly shifts to the challenges the singer faces in winning over Raquelita. He claims to be difficult and a challenge to conquer, like walking on fire. Despite the difficulties, he perseveres, showing determination and devotion. The singer feels confident in his own abilities and suggests that others should step aside because he deserves all the accolades. He acknowledges that Raquelita's green-eyed gaze entangles and calls him, and he admits to being infatuated by her.
The chorus reaffirms the singer's burning desire for just a small drop of Raquelita's blessed water. Her eyes, described as enchanting and mysterious, hold a light that attracts him like a moth to a flame. He sees her as a healer, capable of curing his sorrows. He continues his quest, searching solely for that tiny drop of her blessed water, recognizing its abundant value and power.
In the final verses, the song takes a more playful tone, where the singer likens Raquelita's enticing red lipstick to dynamite. He jokes about how quickly it disappears once he kisses her, suggesting a passionate and intense connection between them. The lyrics also imply a sense of familiarity and affection, as he refers to himself as her "negrita," a term of endearment. Overall, the song captures the singer's enchantment and yearning for a deep connection with Raquelita, ultimately desiring just a single drop of her blessed water to satisfy his emotional thirst.
