Pennywise's current line-up consists of Jim Lindberg (vocals), Fletcher Dragge (guitars), Randy Bradbury (bass) and Byron McMackin (drums). They had kept their original line-up together until bassist Jason Thirsk died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in 1996, due to issues with his alcoholism, after which Bradbury joined as his replacement. In August 2009, Lindberg decided to leave the band; he was replaced in February 2010 by Ignite singer Zoli Téglás. With Téglás, the band recorded their tenth studio album All or Nothing, which was released on May 1, 2012. Lindberg rejoined the band later that year after Téglás was sidelined by a back injury.

Confusion
Pennywise Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The world has been turned upside down
Everything you thought you knew was true
Is exactly the opposite point of view
Take this confusion all away
We need the answers here today
Unanswered questions all around
No resistance can undo
The lies fed to you
Through and through
So take your pabulum and be done
It's all the same for everyone
Sometimes I wish I'd never met you
So many times tried to forget you
Tried hard but things won't change
Won't someone take this all away
Take this confusion all away
We need the answers here today
Unanswered questions all around
No conclusions for us now
In Pennywise's song Confusion, the lyrics depict a world turned upside down and an unsettling feeling of uncertainty. The first few lines "I can't believe what I have found/The world has been turned upside down" set the tone for the rest of the song. The lyrics suggest that everything we thought we knew was true is actually false and the opposite of what we believed. The line "no conclusions for us now" shows that there are more questions than answers and no clear direction.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "take this confusion all away, we need the answers here today". This repetition emphasizes the urgency the singer feels to have the confusion resolved and the truth revealed. The lines "no resistance can undo/ the lies fed to you" show how difficult it is to uncover the truth and reject the false narrative that has been given to us.
The song can be interpreted in different ways. It can be seen as a critique of society, politics or even relationships where one person hides the truth and the other tries to uncover it. Overall, the lyrics reflect the feeling of disillusionment and frustration with the lies and confusion that plague our world.
