Faith was a band-leader, orchestrator, and composer best known for his arrangements of standard tunes using lush string sections and female choruses. The latter sometimes sang, most often they just vocalized without words.
Faith's live orchestra was a staple of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's live-music broadcasts from 1938 to 1940. After moving to the U.S., Faith made many recordings for Voice of America. After working briefly for Decca Records, he went to work for Mitch Miller at Columbia Records. There, he turned out dozens of albums and provided arrangements for many of the pop singers of the 1950s. The use of the female chorus really became a Percy Faith signature with his mid-late 1960's "Young Lovers" projects; it was also used in his final Holiday album, "Christmas Is," released in 1967.
Faith's most famous and best-remembered recordings are "Delicado" (1952), "Moulin Rouge" (1953) and "Theme from A Summer Place" (1960).

Old black magic that you weave so well
Those icy fingers up and down my spine
The same old witch craft when your eyes meet mine
Same old tingle that I feel inside
Then the elevator starts it ride
Down and down I go
Like a leaf caught in a tide
I should stay away but what can I do
I hear your name and I'm a flame
Flame, flame of desire
Only your kiss can put out the fire
Oh you're the lover I have waiting for
Your the mate that fate had me created for
And every time your lips meet mine
Down and down I go
Round and round I go
In a spin, lovin' the spin I'm in
Under the old black magic called love
In a spin lovin' the spin I'm in
Under the old black magic called love
In a spin lovin' the spin I'm in
Under the old black magic called love
I should stay away but what can I do
I hear your name and I'm a flame
Flame, flame of desire
Only your kiss can put out the fire
Oh you are the lover I have waited for
Your the mate that fate had me created for
And every time your lips meet mine
Down and down I go
Round and round I go
In a spin, lovin' the spin I'm in
Under the old black magic called love
"That Old Black Magic" is a classic love song that revolves around the theme of romantic attraction and the spellbinding power of love. The lyrics suggest that the singer is under the spell of a mysterious and enchanting woman who has the power to captivate his heart and mind. The "old black magic" refers to the irresistible attraction that this woman possesses, which leaves the singer feeling helpless and entranced.
The lyrics use metaphors such as "icy fingers up and down my spine" and "leaf caught in a tide" to describe the intensity of the singer's feelings. He knows that he should stay away from this woman, but he cannot resist the pull she has on him. The lyrics suggest that the singer feels he has found his perfect match in this woman, that she is the lover he has been waiting for and the mate that fate has created him for. The song ends with the singer admitting that he is madly in love and in a spin because of the woman's spell, unable to resist her charms.

This was the most incredible album that I ever heard when I stumbled upon an 8 track tape my parents had purchased with this lady on the cover. I wore the 8 track out, it went backwards I played it so much then snapped the tape in the player. Years later, again, I find that Masterpiece on youtube!!!!!😍😍😘😘
