This makes perfect sense within the context of the show. Doofenshmirtz would create some crazy device called the Punkinator, probably to use it on himself and impress his daughter, but he accidentally sets it on the entire town, so, after being hit, Phineas and Ferb hold a Greenday concert for the entire punkified town.
Then there’s a flash of light at the end as everything gets reversed.

phineas is canonically left handed. in the episode where candace is trying to get him a birthday present she ends up with a left handed tool which phineas thanks her for because he could never find one. so he had to use the right-handed one which was uncomfortable because he's a lefty
