Faccini began his music career in London in the band 'Charley Marlowe', which he fronted alongside the poet Francesca Beard. In 2001, the band ended and Piers started solo work. He writes music for television - notably the BBC docudrama 'Killing Hitler' - as well as painting. His first solo album and EP 'Leave No Trace' came out in 2004.
He has guested on a series of other albums some of which are released on the 'Label-Bleu' label.
His style is rhythmic and melodic. His album is mostly based around acoustic guitar riffs, whereas his earlier music and TV themes reflect his interest in dance music.
He is currently based in France.

Piers Faccini Lyrics

I've been looking for my eyes
Has anybody seen them
Can anybody help I cried?
I called out to the darkness
I've been reaching for my hands
Has anybody held them
In the silence I heard my reply
And no one will ever know why
I called out to the darkness
I've been looking for myself
Can anybody find me
Is there nobody left?
I called out to the darkness
Why don't you ever hear me
And who hides behind you
Is there no way I can see?
In the silence I heard my reply
And no one will ever know why
In the silence I heard my reply
And no one will ever know why
In the silence I heard my reply
And no one will ever know why
Piers Faccini’s song No Reply is about the feelings of helplessness and the profound sense of being lost that can be felt when one is searching for answers but receives no response. The singer in the song calls out to the darkness, searching for their eyes, their hands, and ultimately, themselves. They cry out for help, asking if anyone can understand them, or if anyone knows where they can be found. Yet, in the silence that engulfs them, there is no reply.
The repetition of the lines “I called out to the darkness”, “In the silence I heard my reply”, and “And no one will ever know why” creates a sense of hopelessness, reflecting the singer’s feelings of being alone and abandoned. They are searching for something or someone to help them, but they are met with silence. The line “Why don’t you ever hear me” speaks to the singer’s frustration and desperation. They are calling out, but it seems as though no one is listening.
The song is a hauntingly beautiful depiction of the many emotions that can arise when one is searching for answers and receives no response, and highlights the importance of human connection and understanding. The melancholic tone, combined with Faccini's emotive voice and raw acoustic guitar, makes No Reply a poignant and memorable song.
