His unending fascination with Hollywood film scores of the 80s, combined with his passion for minimal and modern music, has driven him into creating his own style while manifesting his trademark perfectionism and detail in his work.

Piotr has worked for 11 bit studios, CD Projekt RED, People Can Fly (former Epic Games Poland), Farm 51, Flying Wild Hog, C.I. Games, Platige Image, Audiomachine, Gothic Storm, Eternal Eclipse and Sonokinetic amongst many others. He has recorded music with orchestras in the UK, Czech, Poland and Germany as an orchestrator and composer for local and international clients.

A few of his game credits include Frostpunk, The Witcher 3: Blood And Wine, Bulletstorm, This War of Mine, Beat Cop, Anomaly: Warzone Earth, Deadfall Adventures and Grimlands.

Piotr is the first polish composer to receive the prestigious G.A.N.G. Awards "Music of the Year" nomination, as well as the first polish composer nominated in 3 different categories in a single year for his soundtrack for Frostpunk. Hell I would probably even go as far as to say surviving the Great Storm is my favourite bit of the New Home scenario because of how genuinely nervewracking it can be. Even with a fully upgraded generator running on overdrive, people will still get sick because of the cold (and even with the proper upgrades overdrive still cant be maintained for long before the stress level goes critical). Your resources will dwindle as food can no longer be gathered and as more end up in the infirmary or burried in the snow, the other resource incomes begin to shrink, making you want to metaphorically amputate limbs by turning off sections of the city wherever possible.

All the while "The City Must Survive" tells you to keep fighting. To do whatever is needed. Because as long as the city still lives, mankind has hope

Honestly I love the soundtrack and the feelings it gives.

The menu theme for example conveys some minor hopeless and sadness at the beginning via slow and sad music, with it getting more ecstatic and loud, to signify that they've adapted, and that everything will be okay... Or to signify that it's gotten a whole lot worse.

The City Must Survive meanwhile conveys one simple message... Fight. Its ecstatic, fast, badass, and really shows the idea of a giant storm full of people pushing through to survive, kicking and screaming to fight past it.

This game is art. The visuals are art. The music is art.

I never experienced the cold, but whenever it rains here it's nerve wracking, since flooding is really common here and I've been through plenty of floods myself, I've practically learnt how to swim in garbage filled waters. I don't experience it anymore since my family and I moved into a flood-proof condominium, any place still had risks so we decided to choose it. Still when it rains I remember the days where we nearly die from such a cruel force of nature, I nearly failed school because all of my books and supplies got washed away. Nowadays the rapidly changing climate has given us even stronger storms than usual and I'm afraid it will just go downhill from there, we are in a island nation and once the Ice caps are gone only the high places deep inland would survive which is not much.

I'm in Canada (north but not that much) and let me tell you that the game did a very good job at making us feel the cold even in the game. It is exactly like that. The whistling wind, the crackling sound, the frost, etc (from the many -40 & -50 Celsius I have experienced). It's like someone is constantly whipping your face, fingers and feet. Winter is nice don't get me wrong, but the cold goes through your bones and it can be awful at some times. As devastating as heat

If I were in a millenium blizzard with -150°C, I'd be happy to be in the lower levels of a coal mine for it gets warmer the more you descend. So this might be the best place - as long as you get fresh air supply from the surface...

I remember when I first got this game and started it up. I had seen the trailer for it before and thought it looked cool, and decided to get it in a Steam sale. I started it up and it seemed pretty normal but when the intro music played I was immediately awestruck. Frostpunk is a game that taught me that hope is something that needs to be found and created - it does not sprout out of nothing. The tone of overcoming adversity and building a small light where there should be only despair in the OST always put me at peace when I fell overwhelmed by the world.

There's this widow in the scenario campaign that asked to be put into the ranger corps so she can search for others like herself. I've always kept an eye on her progress. I straight up sweated through that storm hoping she'd make it back before it overtook her group. She made it back.

When I started my first job working as a solar panel installer I had the ost downloaded on my old mp3 and when I would go to work out in the solar farm fields to set up acres of bases for the panels I'd play this. It was great cuz it was the middle of winter in 2020 and in December up here in New York I was a hop skip and a jump away from Canada. On good days it was 15°F and on bad days it would be -18°F with high winds with white outs. Working out there my job was strait forward so I was able to get by not having to talk much with others and it let me focus on my work while also letting my mind wonder to imaginary scenarios I'd make up listening to the frostpunk ost.

The Order isn't that evil actually, it's not like anyone has the luxury of civil liberties when the world is so messed up. People need discipline and courage during these times. I find it better than to become zealots, we aren't really fascists since there is no one to fight other than the cold. This game has one of the few scenarios where I would accept such a authoritarian government.

I had every heating upgrade, every house upgrade, I had automatons, I had prosthetics, I had happy citizens (Although I abused faith), I had all generator upgrades, I had enough food and coal, and I even sent the generator to overdrive, yet still seeing those snowflakes above those houses put a deep pit in my stomach. No wonder I got drawn to the soundtrack so quick, it’s the same composer for the Witcher dlc blood and wine, I still listen to Slopes of Blessure to this day

Whenever I feel tired or stressed out, I put on the song at 16:05. Gets me motivated. Almost like "People are depending on me, I must work harder!". However I don't play it often as I don't want to ruin this feeling.

"The City Must Survive" You can feel the hope and despair of the citizen in game when they are at the edge of the death, that so realistic.

remember my first playthrough, at the end of the scenario when the great frost hit, i was thinking that i was prepared for anything... i was mistaken, to little of the poppulation survived and oh dear, the religios zealots was a great help and the kids that were alwas helped and never putted to work, the ones that save everyone... by everyone was just the lucky ones

I've got absolutely no idea how I realized this, but the violin part at 0:06 sounds like a slowed down version of Juliana's theme from a show called The Man in The High Castle

That is pretty much on point yeah! Cool find. And the comparison is not that crazy, the instrument itself sounds pretty much the same between the two tracks.

I was actually watching TMITHC (is that the correct abbreviation? well, you know what I mean) and playing this game at the same time (well, at different times of the day, but the same day, again, you know what I mwan xD) and I immediately thought, oh well, what a coincidence, looks like I´m on a perfect melancolic trip right now, and it has a recurring theme.
So either you are sane my friend, or we are at least two with the same craziness.
Both soundtracks would actually suit both masterpieces perfectly.

Yes, I think some of the tracks have clear inspirations. I get 28 weeks later vibe from Still Cold at some parts.

This game hits different since I moved from California to a lake effect snow belt part of New York... when the pipes are frozen, the power is out, and the snow is piling up...

I remember in my first playthrough, even before the storm, I relied on coal coming in from the other settlements, my housings were all level 1 as I didn't know I could demolish them and build better ones instead

I was disturbed realizing the scenario might take place in the real world. I just finish The Fall of Winterhome. I was proud of myself that I could safe 500+ peopleto the Dreadnought. What a game!
