Clair de Lune
Pitou Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I′m leaving, little one
Now don't go grieving, little one

There are some things that need to be, need to be done
Go rest your head
And in your dreams
I′ll come along
I'm leaving, little one
Don't go grieving, little one
There′s power found in a song, hear me;

When Iam done I will go and come back to you
I will find some place and light to take back to you
I′ve been awaiting for long time now
Ever awaiting but it's time now
I′ve been awaiting, but when I go please: stay, stay, wait

I'm leaving, little one
Don′t go grieving, little one
For this is power found in a song, hear me

Mmm

Thank you for living.

It’s just... I’ve heard the song so many times in movies and shows. And I would imagine how much better it would be if it was sung and like... you got it perfectly

And as I’m reading the lyrics I was like this is crazy because I was walking home from the library thinking how this would be very good as a lullaby in a dark sad way because the name of the song means moonlight

And it’s just so insane because this is exactly what I was thinking about right before I got home and went on my phone and it’s like so crazy and awesome at the same time

Like seriously thanks dude you’re awesome

This feels like something the moon would sing to all the little kids who secretly stayed up late to spend time in the moon beams as it was almost daybreak

I come back to this song all the time to listen to it here. There's nothing like Pitou and Tamino signing together, it sounds like a dream. I'd love to hear more of them together 💘

Thank you Pitou for making this song so special with your lovely voice. Every time I hear Clar de Lune, I also hear these beautiful lyrics now, too.

Before he passed away, my younger brother used to hear me sing the first line "I'm leaving, little one," then, with excitement would ask me if that was an actual song based off Claire de Lune. I would say yes but i never really got the chance to show him this video. I wish he'd have the chance to find this and listen to this before his disease took him. I miss him everyday and that would've been a sweet memory to cherish.
