In 1996, she moved back to Salvador and played in various garage bands. She was vocalist of the hardcore band Inkoma, and released several albums with the band. When Inkoma broke up, she was invited by producer Rafael Ramos to record her first solo album, Admirável Chip Novo, which was released in 2003.
Admirável Chip Novo sold more than 250,000 copies, being certified Platinum. The singles "Máscara", "Admirável Chip Novo" and "Teto de Vidro" were successful in Brazil, and "Equalize" hit number one. The album title was inspired by Aldous Huxley's Brave New World (translated to Portuguese as "Admirável Mundo Novo").
After Admirável Chip Novo, the expectations for Pitty's second album were high. Her second album, Anacrônico is heavier and more daring than its predecessor. It sold more than 150,000 (Platinum). During an interview around the release of her second album, Pitty and her band said that they had listened to too much Queens of the Stone Age while recording the album. The influence is clear, especially in the heavy and slow songs, "lightly and tireless feeling of Josh Homme stand in air".
Her biggest hits are "Admirável Chip Novo", "Equalize", "Máscara", "Memórias", "Na sua Estante" and "Pulsos".

Muito, tanto que depois do ACN, ele briga muito com o Anacrônico pelo segundo lugar na minha preferência. Ao mesmo tempo que eu acho o Anacrônico um puta álbum também que veio pra suprir uma expectativa gigante depois do álbum de estreia e conseguiu consolidar a Pitty como um dos principais nomes do Rock nacional, o Setevidas traz uma maturidade em plenitude da Pitty, tanto como cantora, quanto compositora sem igual nos álbuns anteriores; as músicas tem acordes maravilhosos, ela está mais livre pra entregar um som que é mais a cara dela e o momento de carreira naquela ocasião também era muito favorável. Enfim, amo.
