They are influenced by the American alternative rock/post-grunge scene as well as electronic and classical music, the combination of which gives the band their unique sound.
In mid-2006, Mattias left the band after they had decided to alter their sound from pop inspired 90's rock to a harder type of rock. Bandit Rock radio host Peter Kjellin replaced Mattias as bassist.
During autumn of 2007, after releasing their debut single Achilles heel on label Dogmatic, Plan Three supported Takida on their tour. Over the years they have also shared stages with bands such as 3 Doors Down, 30 Seconds to Mars, Paramore, HIM and The Sounds.
In early 2008, drummer Andreas decided to leave the band to pursue different paths in life. A message was published on their Myspace page, looking for a new drummer. Roughly a month later it was made clear that a new drummer had been found - Andreas Henriksson. In 2010, he left the band, and was replaced with Kristoffer Folin.
In August 2008, a single called Triggers was released. At the same time the band announced an upcoming album. In June 2007 yet another single was released, Still Broken. Their début album, titled Screaming our sins was released in November 2009. Late 2011 saw the release of the first of an upcoming trilogy of EPs, The Signal - Part One.

Brush it Off
Plan Three Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You make them wild now
You make them lost now
You're in the zone
Ooooh
You make them want you
Oh how I want you, not to go
But everything comes falling down
The silhouette, a smile or frown
And anytime,
All we do is wrong
And I need you, but then what?
And I leave you, but then what?
Once again, I stand here corrected
Thinking it's too soon, to have it all
Hard enough to know, what I really want
I start changing with everything around me
I brush it off
Ooooh
I'm walking wires
Over a train crash
I'm holding on
And you, you make me useless
You left me senseless
You lead me on
But please go on, it feels so good
I need this pain, it's understood
That everytime
All we do is wrong
And I need you, but then what?
And I leave you, but then what?
Everytime, I stand here corrected
Thinking it's too soon, to have it all
Hard enough to know, what I really want
I start changing with everything around me
I was here
Still more then once
It's carved into my mind
Well I was here, you were out of reach
Still somehow scars my memory
I'm still here, though always behind
I need to know, will I do right this time
Not anyone, takes a lie
I brush it off, then what?
Everytime, I stand here corrected
Hope it hits you hard, if it hits at all
Till you finally know, what you really want
Maybe then, I'll be gone forever
The song "Brush it Off" by Plan Three is a powerful anthem about love, pain, and the difficulty of navigating our own emotions. The song begins with the lyrics "You make them wild now, you make them lost now, you're in the zone" which suggests a sense of excitement and passion, but as the song continues, the tone shifts. The lyrics "All we do is wrong and I need you, but then what? And I leave you, but then what?" convey a sense of confusion and uncertainty, highlighting the difficulties of maintaining a relationship. The chorus "Brush it off" serves as a mantra, encouraging listeners to let go of their troubles, move forward, and embrace change.
The second verse explores the notion of pain and how it can be both destructive and necessary for growth. The lyrics "I need this pain, it's understood, that every time all we do is wrong" suggest that pain is an inevitable part of the human experience, but the chorus urges listeners to move beyond it and find a way to continue on. The final verse reveals that the singer has been hurt before, but is determined to learn from their mistakes and make the right choices this time. The song ends with the poignant lyrics "Maybe then, I'll be gone forever" suggesting that the singer is ready to move on and start anew.
