Alex Uhlmann joined as the band's latest lead singer in November 2010.
Their first single, "Chase the Sun", reached number five on the UK Singles Chart in 2001.[1] The song has enjoyed a rise in popularity ever since Sky Sports began using it during its coverage of the Professional Darts Corporation's major tournaments. The crowds in the venues are encouraged to chant and sing along to the song during the commercial breaks of matches, and the song has a cult following amongst darts fans. The song is also known to be chanted by supporters at the games of Australian football clubs Newcastle Jets and Adelaide United, as well as being the second half opening theme for the English Football League Championship team, Sheffield Wednesday. English Championship Football team, Watford F.C. also use the song for a goal song after they score a goal.[2] English Super League team Wigan Warriors are known to use the song following a successful drop-kick. The Melbourne spring racing carnival used the song during promotional TV advertisements during the mid to late 2000s.
Their second single, "Inside All the People", reached no. 9 in the Italian singles charts, but did better on the European dance charts. Their third single was "Who Said (Stuck In The UK)" which also gained significant commercial success. Their 2007 single release, "Static", appeared on FIFA 08.
They are also remixers, with their highest-profile work to date being New Order's "Waiting for the Sirens' Call".
In May 2006 they became the first musical group to release a single exclusively as a mobile phone download, with the release of "Stop Me" on the mobile network 3.[3]
In 2009 they released the single, "Lemonade", which is featured on their album Planet Funk.
During the autumn 2010 the single “Weightless” is due for release in Europe and the US. The song is a cooperation between Planet funk and the swedish artist Emilia de Poret.
Their forthcoming album "The Great Shake", featuring the new lead singer Alex Uhlmann, is set to release during the summer of 2011. The first single, "Another Sunrise" will be released in Italy in May 2011.

In the sun
Whens its hot and tropical
You drip just like glue
That sunlight's burning into you
You're dripping all over
You drip just like glue
That sunlight's burning into you
You're dripping all over
Suck your lemonade
In the sun
Watch it run
Off your tongue
Suck your lemonade
Watch it run
Out of your pink tongue
Out of your pink tongue
Watch it run
Off of your pink tongue
I see you melting up to the stuff on you're stereo
With you're friends in the heat, in your Alpha Romeo
You're dripping all over
Suck your lemonade
In the sun
Watch it run
Off your tongue
Suck your lemonade
Watch it run
Out of your pink tongue
Out of your pink tongue
Watch it run
Off of your pink tongue
Creeping to the shame
Suck your lemonade
Creeping to the shame
Suck your lemonade
You just
Suck your lemonade
In the sun
Watch it run
Out your tongue
Suck your lemonade
Watch it run
Out of your pink tongue
Out of your pink tongue
Watch it run
Out of your pink tongue
Suck your lemonade
In the sun
Watch it run
Out your tongue
Suck your lemonade
Watch it run
Out of your pink tongue
Out of your pink tongue
Watch it run
Out of your pink tongue
With your friends in the heat, in your Alpha Romeo
The lyrics to Planet Funk's song Lemonade seem to be describing a day in the sun with friends, enjoying cold drinks and the heat. The chorus repeats the phrase "suck your lemonade in the sun," suggesting that the lemonade is refreshing and provides relief from the heat. The line "you drip just like glue" refers to the sweat that comes from being outside in hot weather, and "that sunlight's burning into you" emphasizes the intensity of the heat. The repetition of "you're dripping all over" reinforces the idea that the heat is causing a lot of sweating.
The second verse mentions "the stuff on your stereo" and "your Alpha Romeo," suggesting that the group is driving around and listening to music. The line "creeping to the shame, suck your lemonade" is a bit unclear, but it seems to imply that the group is getting a little wild or reckless, and the lemonade is a way to calm down and cool off. The final chorus repeats the same phrases as the previous ones, making it clear that "sucking your lemonade in the sun" is the main focus of the song.
Overall, Lemonade is a fun, upbeat song that celebrates the simple pleasure of a cold drink on a hot day. The lyrics are simple but effective, conveying the feeling of being outside in the sun and enjoying life.
