Weighing on Me

Got a hundred racks stacked in the basement, lately
It make everybody hate me
Why you think I keep it off safety
They look at me strange
They say that I changed
Cause I don't look back down and act sideways
I keep to myself
Number 2: never fuck with the 12, Aye
She weighing on me, She weighing on me
She weighing on me, Yea she weighing on me
She weighing on me, She weighing on me
Yea She weighing on me, She weighing on me
She weighing on me, Yea she weighing on me
She weighing on me
You come and you go
You left me I needed some more
I need you to grow
I can't do a thing without you
Go insane without you
The holes in my pants is from chasing you up late night
Making sure that the flow still tight
Keep it in the bank I don't need no ice
Turn to stone when you look in my eyes
She weighing on me, She weighing on me
She weighing on me, Yea she weighing on me
She weighing on me, She weighing on me
Yea She weighing on me, She weighing on me
She weighing on me, Yea she weighing on me
She weighing on me
Aye, you never sleep so I never sleep
You are the remedy
You are the enemy
You are the one for me
You are the one that look out for me
Already there for you
Already there for you
Ridin' in the whip that I would kill for, real slow
Never turning back to when my ends was low
You did turn me to an animal
Who would've known that you was so valuable
She weighing on me, She weighing on me
She weighing on me, Yea she weighing on me
She weighing on me, She weighing on me
Yea She weighing on me, She weighing on me
She weighing on me, Yea she weighing on me
She weighing on me
(She weighing on me) She weighing on me
(She weighing on me) She weighing on me
(She weighing on me) She weighing on me
Yea She weighing on me
The lyrics to Pouya's song Weighing on Me contain themes of wealth, the necessity of keeping secrets, and the emotional turmoil of a fleeting relationship. The opening lines question the value of life savings in comparison to one's actual life, concluding that it is not. The singer of the song has a large sum of cash in his basement, but this causes him to feel isolated from those around him, as he fears they only care about him for his money. To protect himself, he keeps his money "off safety," meaning he keeps it a secret, and he tries not to draw too much attention to himself. He acknowledges that this change in his behavior makes people think he has changed, but he sees it as the key to keeping his wealth.

This album dropped at about 12:30 am while I was having a mental breakdown about my current situation, I listened to this album front to back while debating the value of my life and where Ive ended up after everything.
