I really like the one on the top far left. It does seem like there is almost an endless amount of rims and i made the mistake purchasing a chrome set years ago that (unknown to me) was considered a "show rim" and once driven at normal highway speed it would flex like crazy made for a horrible experience going on a road trip and after 10 hours would blow up tires. I really want a new set just have to make sure i check and do my research this time

Just bought 16x8 wheels for my 03 Tacoma since the stock size (16x7) was near impossible to find in terms of price point and oem weight comparability. Did 0 offset since I didn't want rock chips in paint from negative offset and no point in positive offset on an offroader. Still will be rocking stock tire size but have yet to put the wheels and tires on. A little nervous not gonna lie. Hoping the extra inch doesn't end up screwing me over, not much I could find on forums about people having done the same, some folks said they were fine, some folks said there was some rubbing on mud guards, guess I'll find out soon enough.

I got a set of forged on one car and a flow formed on another. The forged may be stronger but dont be fooled the flow formed are just as light in weight. It also depends if they are from a quality brand, which will be more expensive. In conclusion high end flow formed wheels like advan racing are super light.

You forgot the most overlooked factor. The center bore diameter needs to match or be a bit bigger so you can get hub centric rings at least. If you buy wheels that the bore is too small that means you have to go to a machine shop to enlarge it which cost another 200-400 dollars.

Also tire height chart is best website for tires. Look up your oem size then look up upgrade rim diameter and it will give you all tire sizes that come close to your oem height. Good for staggered setups or if you have all wheel drive cars.

Getting my first set of wheels soon 19x8 with a 40 offset. Wondering what tire size is best 245/40 or 235/40. Your input would help a lot. My stock set is 215/60 r16 tires stock wheels 16x7 with a 40 offset.

Kinda depends on the car in question. But overall, 235/40R19 would be the largest I'd go. 225/40R19 is a more "correct" fit. They will ride better and will have much less of a negative impact on the cars overall performance. You add a lot of weight with those wheels probably, and with the 235/40R19,, you also increase the diameter from 26.1" to 26.4", which essentially has the same effect as a taller gear ratio.
You may think that you gain a lot more grip by going to a 235 over a 225, but think about this. Your car was born with a 215/60R16, and without knowing what car you have, I can be quite sure that it's not a high performance sports car. That's not a negative, it just matters because it is a determining factor in what a tire can offer you. Tires available in your stock size, are grand touring tires, all season stuff etc. and far from performance oriented. You could actually stick to your stock tire width and still gain more grip than the car would ever need, so a 235 will not add anything. If anything, over a 225 it will feel less precise as it will float around more inside the wheel, whereas the 225 will feel slightly stiffer and offer a more direct steering response. A Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in 225/40R19 will offer many times more grip than any 215/60R16 ever will, and being a 225, it will offer both a very good level of comfort as well as excellent wet performance.

What's your view on offset and it's relation to brake clearance? I believe they have very little do with each other and other factors like face, hub and barrel are the real determining factors.

You get a larger negative offset in order to fit in a BBK and also to get your rims flush without having to use shtty spacers!

It really depends on the wheel. Some wheels can clear large brakes despite being small. You can run a wheel such as a 19" Forgeline GA1-R on a car with six piston calipers and 398 mm discs. On the flipside, there are other wheels that are 20" which are so poorly manufactured that they won't clear the same setup. Always measure the radius from your hut to the outside of the caliper and add 4mm. That will tell you what you have tow work with in terms of inner barrel diameter. Then measure the offset from the hub flange of the brake disc to the face of the caliper. That will tell you how much room you need to clear the spokes. Those two numbers are what you need in order to know whether or not a wheel will clear your brakes. If a wheel vendor or a wheel manufacture cannot tell you what their inner barrel diameter is or how much room there is between the wheel flange and inner wheel face, then shop some place else, because they are not worth your time.

I was looking to upgrade my stock steel wheels to a newer and lighter wheels from 16s to 18s but my truck is a 6 lug pattern so it was not easy... Your assumption is correct. That is a subcompact car. Going to 17s is just going to make the ride rougher. Average Americans just need average tires. all this low profile stuff is a waste of money and less safe. I feel like starting my own car company.lol Skip all the electronic bullshit, except for rear camera and blind spot monitoring,acoustic glass and 14 speaker audio systems. Lol Americans just need cars that get great gas mileage and a smooth ride. You don't have the Autobahn to ride on! Lol

So ok, I seen some fitment with some Volk TE37s 18x10.5 +15 and it was perfect.
Now I'm wanting some Works Emotions, same kind of car. Still 18x10.5 but since the Works have more of a lip compared to the TE37's, what would the offset be to keep the same fitment as the TE37's? Or is it the same and I'm totally missing something?

hey, I'm looking for some rims for my Audi wagon B8 and I thought the ESR F11 would look good cause they seem concave, but I'm doubting about the offset, I want them to look deep and aggressive but not sure the ET that will make them look great

In order for your wheels to have as much dish as possible, you need run the lowest offset possible. Also don't forget to consider how the car will drive. Sure, you can go with a low offset, but that will affect both steering and overall handling. More often than not, it's a good idea to see if you can move the outer wheel lip out by increasing the wheel width, rather than decreasing the offset.
Looking at the fact that the A4 has an ET of 45 with stock 7.5x17 wheels, a 9" wide wheel with ET 40 is about as wide as you would want to go. That will put your rim lip 19mm further out compared to the 7.5" wide wheel. The good thing here is that the center of the tire will only be moved out 5 mm from the stock position, and thus the car will handle well.
Concaver makes a really nice concave wheel that comes in the deep version when 9" wide. That with ET40 and 245/35R19 rubber should fit you well.

Don't buy from them. I've been waiting forever for my wheels. They use a freight company with lift gate service so that greatly adds to the already long build time. It takes days for them to mount a set of wheels. Even longer if they are not in stock. Use their knowledge on fitments but buy from someone else, trust me on this. Google the reviews. I will update this post once I finally receive my wheels. This has been the worst wheel experience ever.

Lighter/stronger metal is better and when increasing tire diameter stay within 1% tire width within 9% tire calculator online is very helpful. Offset could depend on your brake setup. Good luck

I see some cars with stock size wheels which leaves are regular gap between the wheel well and the tire and I see some where the tire fits right into the wheel well (fender). Does this mean that they got one size higher than the stock size? Also, does it rub in the wheel well when they go over bumps or when they carry heavy cargo in the trunk? Thanks

None. Get those things off of it. The only 18" tire that is made to fit a 13" wide 18" wheel, is a 345/35R18. Even a 335/30R18 only goes to 12.5". Get a set of nice 9.5" rear wheels and be done with it. Those 13" rears are totally pointless on that car.

How do I know if a bigger tire will fit my wheel? The tires on the wheels now are 275/35Z it's a size 18 wheel I want to get bigger tires mainly just to have it look good from the back would I run into any issues if I got a bigger size for example a 295 or 305?

I've 2014 honda accord 4 door, no suspension modifications.
Can I put in 19" rims without having to buy low profile tyres? And what's the maximum width of the tyres/rims I can go up to in front and rear.
I just want a little wider and larger in diameter rims/tyres setup. No other modifications.
