The lyrics of R.O.M.'s song, Coma, are a commentary on the human experience during various periods of time. The first two lines can be interpreted as the singer calling out someone for their inauthenticity, reflected in their poker face, and asking whether their story includes a gentleman who has "killed for them." The next line questions whether they love each other's children, but the singer responds that the children don't love them back.
The next stanza delves into the effects of war and time on our surroundings. It refers to the year 1945 and the impact of bombings on the singer, while also alluding to the idea that history can be rewritten fifty years in the future. There is a general shortage of comfort and extravagance in my surroundings

Simple items like playing cards and utensils are the only possessions I have
There's a women buying an artistic drink
There's a woman nearby who seems to be purchasing an expensive and unique beverage
She's dying to inspire even if only for one night
She wants to feel special and creative, even if it's just for a short time
But I'm no gentleman, dear
I am no kind or chivalrous person
I've killed for you
I have hurt others, possibly even killed, just to gain or maintain your favor
