Knock On Wood
Rachel Stevens Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
That I got 'cause if I do
I will surely,
Surely lose a lot.
'Cause your love is better
Than any love I know.
It's like thunder and lightning,
The way you love me is frightening.
I'm not superstitious about you
But I can't take no chance.
I got me spinnin', baby,
You know I'm in a trance.
'Cause your love is better
Than any love I know.
It's like thunder and lightning,
The way you love me is frightening.
You better knock, knock, knock on wood, baby.
[Think you better knock, knock, knock on wood]
[Think you better knock, knock, knock on wood]
[Think you better knock, knock, knock on wood]
[Think you better knock, knock, knock on wood]
[Think you better knock] Baby
It's no secret about it,
'cause with this love in touch
She sees to it
That I get enough.
Fell her touch all over
You know it means so much.
[Think you better knock]
The lyrics to Rachel Stevens's song "Knock on Wood" express the singer's fear of losing the love she has found. She acknowledges that her partner's love is better than any other she has experienced and compares it to the power of thunder and lightning. This comparison highlights how intense and overwhelming her feelings are for her partner. She warns her partner that they need to knock on wood, indicating a desire for protection against any potential loss or harm that could come to their relationship. Throughout the song, the singer expresses her vulnerability, demonstrating that love can be scary but ultimately worth the risk.
