[1] Former member of indie pop duo He Is We
[2] Alternative folk and Country singer
[1]As one half of He Is We, Rachel Taylor endeared countless fans worldwide. They became something of an extended family for the singer and songwriter, and she always kept them in her mind and heart. Now, her latest music speaks directly to them with an honesty that’s rare these days.
In 2012, she became diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis and underwent chemotherapy in order to combat its effects. Simultaneously, her band He Is We began touring and writing a record with their new singer, so Rachel did what she does best!
Rachel started feverishly writing songs in between her treatments and took to YouTube to communicate the truth to her fans. That music captured her fire in the moment, and she burned brighter than ever in the face of all this adversity. At that point, the singer and songwriter reached out directly to the label, sending the new tunes and her story.
Rachel's 2014 debut EP, Come Alive, for Republic Records echoes the "darker side of pop", as she likes to call it, siphoning strangely melodic hooks through a haze of intense production. She's equally likely to name check influences as wide-ranging as A Perfect Circle, Alanis Morissette, and Imagine Dragons.
[2] Rachel Taylor has honed her creative blend of alternative folk, 1950’s country and thoughtful unplugged pop, through Jazz performance and the study of songwriting at Berklee College of music. Mentored by critically acclaimed singer / songwriter / producer, Michael Been, Rachel has gone on to work with producer/songwriter and grammy winner Charlie Peacock. This musical journey led her to be a founding member of the Indie Roots Folk, girl trio, Maeve, whose music has been in regular rotation on college radio.
Through her love for the art of songwriting, she explores the intimate and challenging portions of her own journey, believing that transparency and revealing what she would rather hide, is the most universal. The result is a beautiful, vulnerable and poignant reflection of human connection.Rachel Taylor’s release “Heartbreak is for Everyone”, produced by Peter Hayes of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, is what she believes to be her best work yet. Vocals reminiscent of Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn, are what sets this compilation of sultry, haunting and yet familiar songs apart. It’s soaring melodies, combined with profound lyrics and vocals are resonating with her rapidly growing audience.

but I am far from able
to resist your touch
even when it hurts this much.
You have my all.
You are my downfall.
Crush me, and keep me for eternity.
where I will always be.
Crush me, into pieces, all of these pieces
Crush me, and keep me for eternity
Tired and I'm wanting
to embrace this haunting
Feeling deep within,
the ache of you beneath my skin.
You have my all.
You are my downfall.
Crush me, and keep me for eternity.
Break me in your hands love,
where I will always be.
Crush me, into pieces, all of these pieces.
Crush me, and keep me for eternity.
I don't want to give you up
maybe in time you'll love me just as much
I've got a way of making mistakes
and you've got a smile every time my heart breaks.
Crush me, and keep me for eternity.
Break me in your hands love,
where I will always be.
Crush me, into pieces, all of these pieces.
Crush me, and keep me for eternity.
And keep me for eternity.
And keep me for eternity.
The song "Eternity" by Rachel Taylor is a heartfelt ballad about a toxic and unstable relationship. The singer is fully aware of the negative impact that their partner has on them, but they confess that they cannot resist their touch, no matter how much it hurts. The chorus reveals the depth of the singer's devotion as they plead with their partner to break them in their hands and keep them together for eternity. They are willing to be crushed into pieces if it means they can stay with their love forever.
In the second verse, the singer acknowledges that the connection between them and their partner is consuming, almost like a haunting feeling that they cannot shake off. They are exhausted by the intensity of their emotions, but continue to crave their partner's touch. The bridge shows vulnerability as the singer fears losing their partner, but hopes that in time they will love them just as much. They recognize that they have made mistakes in the past, but their partner still smiles every time their heart breaks.
Overall, the lyrics of "Eternity" convey a deep sense of longing and desire for a love that may ultimately be destructive. The singer is willing to endure pain and heartbreak if it means keeping their partner with them forever.
