Amigo

Oiga amigo voy a platicarle
La tristeza que traigo en el alma
Esa ingrata me decía quererme
In the first verse, the singer is in a cantina, drinking and crying over a failed love. Suddenly, a voice behind him asks what's wrong and offers to be his friend. The singer's eyes reveal that he is suffering from a broken heart.
In the second verse, the singer agrees to talk to the stranger and shares the sadness that he carries in his soul. He reveals that the person he thought loved him betrayed him and made a fool out of him. The singer advises the stranger that if he has been deceived too, he must find a way to forget, even though it's not easy and the memory will linger.
The third verse describes the newfound friendship between the two men. They shake hands and sing songs, all in tribute to the woman who left and the ones who will come and stay. This moment of connection and camaraderie is a way for them to cope with their respective heartbreaks.
Finally, in the last verse, the singer adds a caveat to his previous advice. While he previously suggested that forgetting is the key, he now acknowledges that wine is not a cure. It is not the medicine that can heal the pain of betrayal. Despite this, the friendship between the two men endures, as they toast to the woman who left, the ones who will come, and the ones who stay. This final act of solidarity signifies their shared understanding and support for each other's emotional struggles.
