Until I came across this recording on You Tube I had no idea Kempff had included Rameau in his recorded legacy. What a wonderful gift to the world.

This (and Gilels' version) honestly feel like the most correct interpretation of the piece. The overall flow seems more natural, and just makes much more sense (to my ear) than most 'standard' interpretations I've heard.

What a magical interpretation... mesmerizing flow. Kempff brings about a lovely melancholic aspect of this piece, which I didn''t expect after listening to other versions.

This piece has always been very nostalgic. Rameau 's work is very often bittersweet, there' s a always a part of melancholia in his compositions.
