Rancid has had two lineup changes since its inception, with Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman being continuous members. Their current lineup consists of Armstrong on guitar and vocals, Freeman on bass and vocals, Lars Frederiksen on guitar and vocals, and Branden Steineckert on drums. The band was formed by Armstrong, Freeman, and former drummer Brett Reed, who left the band in 2006 and was replaced by Steineckert. This lineup recorded their first album, with Frederiksen joining the band on their subsequent tour.
To date, Rancid has released ten studio albums, one split album, one compilation, two extended plays, and a series of live online-only albums, and has been featured on a number of compilation albums. The band has sold over four million records worldwide, making it one of the most successful punk rock groups of all time. The band rose to fame in 1994 with its second studio album, Let's Go, featuring the single "Salvation". In the following year, Rancid released its highly successful album ...And Out Come the Wolves, which produced its best-known songs "Roots Radicals", "Ruby Soho", and "Time Bomb", and was certified gold and platinum by the RIAA, selling over one million copies in the United States alone. Its next six albums – Life Won't Wait (1998), Rancid (2000), Indestructible (2003), Let the Dominoes Fall (2009), ...Honor Is All We Know (2014) and Trouble Maker (2017) – were also critically acclaimed, though not as commercially successful as ...And Out Come the Wolves. The band released their tenth album, Tomorrow Never Comes, in June 2023.

Moron Bros
Rancid Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Tattooed fingers, tattooed toes
They're idiots, they're losers, they're scum
Yeah, they'll take advantage of everyone
You're a dog, they're your fleas
Yeah, they'll do anything just to spread disease
They will leave you with microscopic bugs
Their company you surely won't miss
When your ashtrays are filled with piss
Talkin' 'bout the Moron Bros
Tattooed fingers, tattooed toes
They'll whine, they'll bitch
They'll fuck you if you're rich
They'll leach, they'll latch
They're like an itch, you can't scratch
They are the Moron Brothers
Don't get along with others
They are the Moron Brothers
Don't get along with others
Yeah, they may not go down in history
But they'll go down on your sister
The lyrics to the Rancid/NOFX song "Moron Bros" paint a picture of two individuals who are not to be trusted. The Moron Bros are described as having tattooed fingers and toes, and the lyrics suggest they are not the kind of people you want to associate with. They are called "idiots" and "losers" and are said to take advantage of everyone they come across. The song suggests that spending time with these individuals is a bad idea - they are like fleas on a dog, spreading disease and generally making life unpleasant.
The Moron Bros are said to drink beer and take drugs and will leave you with microscopic bugs if you spend time with them. The lyrics describe them as whiny and untrustworthy, willing to do whatever it takes to take advantage of others. They are leeches and latches, like an itch that can't be scratched. The chorus repeats the phrase "They are the Moron Brothers, don't get along with others."
The final line of the song is particularly graphic and offensive, suggesting that while the Moron Bros may not be remembered in history, they will certainly be remembered for something far less flattering. Overall, "Moron Bros" is a scathing indictment of two individuals who are not to be trusted, and a warning to others to stay far away.

Not sure what you just said, but I actually do play guitar, though that has nothing to do with why the original version of this song is better.
