Silhouettes
Ray Lyrics

Ah ah ah ah ah
Ah ah ah ah ah
Took a walk and passed your house late last night
All the shades were pulled and drawn way down tight
From within, the dim light cast two silhouettes on the shade
Oh, what a lovely couple they made

Put his arms around your waist, held you tight
Kisses I could almost taste in the night
Wondered why I'm not the guy whose silhouette's on the shade
I couldn't hide the tears in my eyes

Silhouette's (silhouette's) silhouette's (silhouette's)
Silhouette's (silhouette's) ty oh, oh oh
Silhouette's (silhouette's) silhouette's (silhouette's)
Silhouette's (silhouette's) ty oh, oh oh

Lost control and rang your bell, I was sore
Let me in or else I'll beat down your door
When two strangers who have been two silhouettes on the shade
Said to my shock, "You're on the wrong block"

La la la la, la la la
Rushed out to your house with wings on my feet
Loved you like I'd never loved you, my sweet
Vowed that you and I would be two silhouettes on the shade
All of our days, two silhouettes on the shade

Silhouette's (silhouette's) silhouette's (silhouette's)
Silhouette's (silhouette's) ty oh, oh oh
Silhouette's (silhouette's) silhouette's (silhouette's)
Silhouette's (silhouette's) ty oh, oh oh

Two silhouettes on the shade

Overall Meaning

Rays's song Silhouettes is a heart-wrenching tune about the pain of unrequited love. The song tells the story of a man who takes a walk past the house of the girl he loves only to find that she is with another man. As he looks in through the window, he sees their silhouettes on the shade and realizes that they make a beautiful couple. He wonders why he's not the one with her, and tears well up in his eyes.

The song takes an even sadder turn when the man tries to confront the girl and is told that he's on the wrong block. The realization that he's not even in the right place is a crushing blow to the man, but he refuses to give up on his love. He rushes back to her house and declares his love for her, vowing that they will be two silhouettes on the shade for the rest of their lives.

The lyrics to Silhouettes are filled with emotion and the pain of love lost. The imagery of the silhouettes on the shade is especially poignant, as it represents the fleeting nature of love and the dreams that we hold onto. Despite the sadness of the song, there is a sense of hope that shines through in the end, as the man refuses to give up on love and holds onto the hope of a future with the woman he loves.

Comme je passais par chez toi
Tard hier soir
Dans la lumière de ta chambre
J’ai cru voir
Dessinées sur les rideaux
Deux silhouettes enlacées
Je m’arrêtais la gorge serrée
Il semblait plus grand que moi
Près de toi
D’où j’étais je n’entendais
Pas vos voix
Elles semblaient tellement s’aimer
Ces silhouettes enlacées
Quel joli couple tous deux vous formiez
Tu te blottis dans ses bras
Tendrement
Alors lui il t’embrassa si longtemps

Elles semblaient tellement heureuses
Ces silhouettes enlacées
Moi j’étais seul et désespéré
Mmmmm …..
Tout à coup perdant la tête
J’ai sonné
Quand la porte s’est ouverte
J’ai crié
Car c’était deux étrangers
Ces silhouettes enlacées
Je m’étais donc trompé d’étage
Comme un fou j’ai couru
Te trouver
Et de joie tout contre moi
T’ai serré
Nous étions à notre tour
Deux silhouettes enlacées
Par notre amour
Deux silhouettes enlacées
Et pour toujours
Deux silhouettes enlacées

@@lpkobra8986 think how much music kids have to discover nowadays?
I thought it was a lot to discover 50s to 80s when I got into music in the early 90s.
It's easy to research any artist though. I didn't have youtube when I was young.
