Footsteps
Ray Wilson Lyrics

You take him places I can't go
You tell him things I don't know
And even when the bonds hold fast
You make me hate the past

Walking in your footsteps
I used to walk by your side
How could you leave me
On the very edge of suicide
Suicide...

He leaves you traces I can see
He takes the things you gave to me
And even in the coldest place
I'm just an empty space

Walking in your footsteps
I used to walk by your side
How could you leave me
On the very edge of suicide
I'm lost without you
But well I know you go your own way
You never needed me no matter what you say

Walking in your footsteps
I used to walk by your side
How could you leave me
On the very edge of suicide
Suicide...

Walking in your footsteps
I used to walk by your side
How could you leave me
On the very edge of suicide
Suicide?

The Rising Ape

One of my favourite albums of the day, and a brilliant song. Never got the recognition they deserved.

great track. First time I have seen the video. Reminds me of starting Uni for the first time as I listened to the top 40 the day after I moved into my student digs and this was a new entry at 34. It was the best new entry that week and was the first single I bought at Uni as I bought the 7" at Volume records in Sunderland. Should have done much better in the charts though (it fell to 54 the next week!)

Hi, Ray.

This was my very first rock album I ever had. If you are ever in the Gdańsk area, I'd love to have the original tape signed by you.

Accidentally having once heard the beatiful song "Inside" on television, I bought the cassette with the great album "The Mind's Eye" having spent a very large part of the money that I received per month. Here

the beatiful song "Footsteps" sounds very great too.
