Reamonn was a German rock and pop band that is well known all over Europe. They recorded six albums and disbandoned in 2010.
In 1998, Rea Garvey left his band The Reckless Pedestrians and home town of Tralee, Ireland to go to Germany with not a lot money and a demo CD in his pocket. He put an ad into local paper Stockacher Anzeiger stating, "Singer requires band for recording and live shows." Mike Gommeringer (Gomezz) saw this ad and accurately assumed it must have been Garvey, whose original band he had once seen play live. The twosome met up and subsequently recruited Uwe, Sebi and Phil. Their first gig was played on New Year's Eve 1998 in Stockach.
In order to secure a recording contract, they set up a showcase at Logo, a small club in Hamburg, in front of 16 representatives from various record labels in 1999. The band was quickly offered several contracts, settling on signing with Virgin Records Germany. As of 2006 they are now releasing their music through Universal Music.
Their best known songs are: Supergirl and Tonight(2006).
In 2011, Rea started his solo career and as of 2018, released 4 albums so far: Can't stand the silence, Pride, Prisma and Neon. Rea continues to work with national and international artists like Kool Savas, Jam & Spoon, Paul van Dyk or Mary J. Blige.
In the past, he recorded a new version of "All good things come to an end" with Nelly Furtado.
For several German movies he provided solo tracks even before Reamonn disbandoned.
He regularely appears at a coach of the German Version of "The Voice" or "The Voice Kids".
Rea married in 2002 and together with their child, they live in Berlin.
Big in Japan

Crystal bits of snowflakes
All around my head and in the wind
I had no illusions
That I'd ever find a glimpse
Of summer's heatwaves in your eyes
You did what you did to me
Comeback on the road again
Things will happen while they can
I will wait here for my man tonight
It's easy when you're big in Japan
When you're big in Japan
Tonight
When you're big in Japan
Be tight
When you're big in Japan
Oh the eastern sea's so blue
When you're big in Japan
Alright pay, then I'll sleep by your side
Things are easy when you're big in Japan
Neon on my naked skin, passing silhouettes
Of strange illuminated mannequins
Should I stay here at the zoo
Or should I go and change my point of view
For other ugly scenes
You did what you did to me
Now it's history I see
Things will happen while they can
I will wait here for my man tonight
It's easy when you're big in Japan
Big in Japan
Tonight
Big in Japan
Be tight
Big in Japan
Ooh the eastern sea's so blue
Oh here big in Japan
Alright, pay, then I'll sleep by your side
Things are easy when you're big in Japan
Yeah
Wooh
The lyrics to Rea Garvey's song "Big in Japan" express feelings of disorientation and confusion felt by the singer in a foreign city, presumably Tokyo. The opening lines describe the cold, winter cityscape and snowflakes all around. The singer acknowledges that they had no illusions about finding "summer's heatwaves" in the eyes of the one they are with, suggesting a sense of disappointment or disillusionment. They go on to say that whatever was done to them is now history, and they are ready to hit the road again, embracing whatever happens while it can.
The chorus, which repeats the phrase "it's easy when you're big in Japan," stands in contrast to the verses, suggesting that being "big" or popular in Japan grants a sense of ease or power within the society. The lyrics mention the "eastern sea's so blue," perhaps alluding to the beauty of the area, yet also seem to imply that having wealth or status can buy company and companionship ("Alright pay, then I'll sleep by your side").
The lines "neon on my naked skin, passing silhouettes of strange illuminated mannequins" presents vivid, almost surreal imagery and further demonstrates the singer's sense of disorientation amid a foreign landscape. Overall, the lyrics use contrasts in time, place, and status to convey a sense of unease and uncertainty, all the while romanticizing the idea of being big in Japan.

@secondchance-diecoverundso9239
@PHADERPHANTOM
die interpretation ist von "ane brun"...aber die stimme von lina is besser!!!
