Rebelution kicked off their βPeace of Mind Tourβ the day after the release, selling out shows at Phillyβs The Electric Factory, The Hollywood Palladium, Denverβs The Fillmore, The Fox Theater in Oakland and Hard Rock in Orlando, FL. The tour made stops in a total of 42 cities across the country.
Summer 2012 was spent supporting O.A.R on their Amphitheatre tour, headlining four amphitheaters in Florida as well as festival performances at Outside Lands, Hangout, Forecastle, Summer Camp, Summer Set, The Allman Broβs Peach Festival and two performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. After completing a Fall tour of the East and South East, Rebelution will be headlining The Hollywood Palladium on New Years Eve, heading to New Zealand for the Raggamuffins Festival in February and headlining their annual Winter Greens Tour around the USA in Feb - May 2013.
Peace of Mind marks the first time Rebelution has expanded beyond their usual self-production enlisting producers Michael Goldwasser (Easy Star All-Stars), Amp Live (Zion-I), Yeti Beats (Kool Keith, George Clinton), Keith Armstrong and Errol Brown (Stephen, Ziggy, Damian, and Bob Marley). The album builds upon the bandβs signature style while venturing into new musical genres from the lush strings incorporated into the gentle βRoute Aroundβ to the driving guitar and synths throughout βLady In Whiteβ.
Rebelution has developed into a front-runner for grassroots, independent and tour driven music groups. Originally formed in 2004, members Eric Rachmany (vocals / guitar), Rory Carey (keyboards), Wesley Finley (drums), and Marley D. Williams (bass) met in college, while residing in Isla Vista, a popular beachside community in Santa Barbara. It was there that the seeds to Rebelutionβs future were planted creating inspiring and engaging music that would leave their listeners with the sense that they have the power to make this world a better place. The band continuously tours across the country, ventured to South America and Europe, and has previously performed at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits among others.

Breakdown
Rebelution Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Never around, I was never around
See her dancing on the clouds
Missing out, I'm always missing out
Another mile, what a sight
Another minute of my life gone by
My time flies
Well I'll sleep 'til I arrive
Slow down, don't break down
Slow down, on the verge of a breakdown
Slow down, don't break down
Slow down, don't break down
What a life to live
What a strange little gift
Won't chase another dream but
It's not as easy as it seems
Where are we bound?
Always missing out
My time flies
Well I'll sleep 'til I arrive
Slow down, don't break down
Slow down, on the verge of a breakdown
Slow down, don't break down
Slow down, don't break down
The lyrics of Rebelution's "Breakdown" convey a sense of reflection and self-awareness. The song seems to be about a person who observes someone else's carefree and joyful life, while realizing their own tendency to miss out on experiences and moments. The first few lines set the stage with the singer looking at the other person singing and dancing in town, recognizing their own absence and lack of presence. This could be interpreted as feeling disconnected from the world or being consumed by other obligations that prevent them from fully participating in life.
The repetition of the line "My time flies" suggests a sense of urgency and a feeling of time slipping away. The singer acknowledges that they are constantly missing out on opportunities and experiences, as symbolized by another mile passing and another minute of their life gone by. Yet, despite this realization, they express a desire to sleep until they arrive, perhaps indicating a desire to escape the pressures and demands of their life.
The chorus emphasizes the need to slow down and avoid breaking down. It can be seen as an internal reminder to take a step back, find balance, and not let the pressures and demands of life overwhelm them. The repetition of the phrase "slow down" reinforces the importance of finding a sense of calm and stability.
Overall, the lyrics of "Breakdown" highlight the struggle of trying to keep up with the fast pace of life and the need to find time for oneself. It serves as a reminder to slow down, appreciate the present moment, and not allow oneself to become overwhelmed.

As a truck driver/car hauler now, this song hit incredibly deep when I first heard it, and does once again years later. I spent years over the road missing out on my girls growing up. Itβs a harsh reality to trying to make a better life for myself and my family. Rebelution is all about getting that message across, and they did it very well in this song.
